In the real world, on a certain video-sharing platform, a player uploaded a gameplay video. The content showed a bystander's perspective of Lu Yuan battling the ninth leader of the Black Mountain Bandit stronghold. The video went viral. It exploded in popularity, with views soaring past one million in just half a day. The comment section was bustling with activity.
“High energy at the start, don’t miss it!”
“What a terrifying character! Who is this NPC?”
“Looks like some kind of constable. Does anyone know where this video was taken? Drop a hint.”
“Is this a hidden boss? I’m with the Kunlun Sect, and even our elders aren’t this powerful.”
“This is the chief constable of Wuyou County. I heard from nearby NPCs that this guy is incredibly strong, a total monster.”
“Monster? There’s no monster this strong! I admit this NPC is huge, but not this powerful — punching the ground to leave a deep crater and leaving no bones behind?”
“Why can’t I tell how he got up close to others’ faces even when slowing the video down ten times? Does this NPC have the Flying Thunder God technique?”
“Ten times slow isn’t enough. Try slowing it down a hundred times and you’ll see—he’s not using Flying Thunder God. He actually runs over there himself. That speed is terrifying!”
“Can someone tell me who he is? I want to do some digging.”
“He’s Lu Yuan, the chief constable of Wuyou County. Found it out. Remember to tag me, thanks, buddy.”
“So strong. I wonder if he takes disciples.”
“Wow, he’s so handsome and big. Those muscles are irresistible.”
“Where did all these fangirls come from? Can you not get so excited every time you see a man? This is a comment section, not a no-man’s land. If you’re itchy, just tap your slippers a few times.”
“Sorry, I’m a guy from Shu province.”
“Get lost.”
...
Mount Hua Sect.
Qianqian Xiyu had spent a month and finally passed Mount Hua’s trials, successfully becoming a disciple. She was following her master up the mountain to learn martial arts when a notification sound rang in her mind.
She glanced at her master, who didn’t turn back, then opened the message. A friend had sent her a video.
“Qianqian, didn’t you just join Mount Hua Sect?”
“Check out this video.”
“Help me find out the origin of the NPC in this video.”
Qianqian Xiyu replied, “Sister, what can I find out from just a video? Give me more info—his name, identity, nickname.”
“No info at all? Who am I supposed to ask?”
“Um, look, I’m anxious—this guy’s name is Lu Yuan, chief constable of Wuyou County. He has a nickname in the martial world—Blood-Handed Butcher, Lord Lu the Demon. Mount Hua is a long-established sect; they should know this figure. Ask your master.”
“I’ll watch the video first.”
...
Curious, Qianqian Xiyu played the video. After a moment, she watched it again, then a third, fourth, and finally a fifth time. She was stunned.

Who is this Lu Yuan? What’s his background? A constable? With that kind of strength, just a constable?
Is it reasonable for an NPC with this level of power to appear in the current game version?
“Master.”
“Hmm? What is it?”
Qianqian Xiyu’s master was an elderly woman with graying hair. In her youth, she had ventured down the mountain and into the martial world, earning the nickname “Setting Sun Sword.”
“Master, do you know Lu Yuan?”
“Lu Yuan? Which Lu Yuan?”
“Is he someone from the martial world? Which sect?”
The old woman found the name vaguely familiar but, due to her age, couldn’t recall immediately.
“He’s not a martial artist, but a constable from Wuyou County. He also has a nickname—Blood-Handed Butcher, Lord Lu the Demon. Do you know who he is, master?”
Qianqian Xiyu asked with curiosity.
“Constable? Lord Lu the Demon? Are you talking about Lu the Demon? That fiend?”
Upon hearing the name, the old woman’s body trembled involuntarily. Her tone was anxious.
“A fiend?”
“Yes, a fiend, the most evil and cruel demon under heaven.”
“He’s deeply sinful, his hands stained with the blood of martial artists across the land.”
The voice of the Mount Hua elder trembled.
Even though five years had passed, Lu Yuan’s shadow still haunted them.
The atmosphere suddenly grew tense.
“Disciple, where did you hear about him?”
“Is he going to attack Mount Hua Sect?”
The old woman turned around, anxiously staring at Qianqian Xiyu, her eyes a little red.
It was clear her master was very worried, even fearful.
This Lu Yuan must have a tremendous background.
Qianqian Xiyu pondered for a moment, then explained that she had learned about Lu Yuan from an old friend, having never heard the name before and was simply curious.
“A friend?”
“That’s right. Lu Yuan is in Wuyou County, which is thousands of miles from Mount Hua. Over the years, Mount Hua hasn’t offended him, so why would he attack us?”
“A false alarm, a false alarm.”
The old woman relaxed.
“Master, is this Lord Lu the Demon very strong?”
“What realm is he in? You seem to fear him a lot?”

Qianqian Xiyu was puzzled.
Lu Yuan was strong — the video showed him to be inhumanly powerful.
But why was her master so afraid?
She was an elder of the Mount Hua Sect, after all.
Mount Hua was one of the top martial sects in the realm, though not quite on the level of Shaolin or Wudang, it was still a first-rate force.
Surely hearing Lu Yuan’s name alone shouldn’t make her tremble so much?
Was this an exaggeration?
“Very strong?”
“Child, you don’t understand.”
“He’s a monster.”
The old woman looked at Qianqian Xiyu and shook her head.
Then she began recounting some of Lu Yuan’s deeds.
His innate divine strength, bizarre and terrifying techniques, and brutal methods.
He liked to tear his enemies in half.
She especially emphasized how Lu Yuan single-handedly reduced the entire Qingcheng Mountain sect to ruins.
Qingcheng Mountain was a sect with deep roots, slightly weaker than Mount Hua.
But Lu Yuan single-handedly devastated it.
Three thousand disciples, two thousand dead or wounded; no elders or sect leaders survived.
How tragic.
According to the Mount Hua elder, Lu Yuan was a super demon lord with cruel and bloody means and extraordinary power.
As for why he attacked Qingcheng Mountain, she said nothing.
She simply attributed it to him being a demon who committed every evil.
This was the way of the martial world, the righteous path.
“Master, what realm is he really in?”
Qianqian Xiyu widened her eyes in disbelief.
“I don’t know either. That demon’s realm and martial arts remain a mystery.”
“No one knows what kind of dark arts he cultivates or what realm he currently holds.”
“Master, I have another question.”
“Ask.”
“If Lord Lu the Demon is so sinful, why haven’t the righteous martial artists united to eliminate him?”
“This…”
