A tavern on Beehive Island.
“Waaah!”
A pirate was hurled through the air, crashing heavily onto a tavern table. The sheer force sent him tumbling on the floor, smashing into several other tables in the process.
“Nicely done!”
The other pirates inside the tavern raised their cups and bottles, cheering enthusiastically.
In the deliberately cleared center of the tavern, Katakuri spun his trident with pride, his fierce gaze fixed on the few pirates standing before him, their faces stiff with apprehension. “Who’s next?”
The pirates exchanged glances, steeling themselves. With a grim determination, they charged at Katakuri in unison. “Don’t get too cocky, kid!”
“Hahaha! Cocky? That’s you lot!”
At just ten years old, Katakuri showed not an ounce of fear, laughing heartily as he brandished his trident to meet their attack.
Though only ten, Katakuri’s height surpassed that of most adults, and his strength was far beyond theirs.
After all, he was the pride of Charlotte Linlin, the natural-born wrecking force—the pinnacle of the Charlotte family’s achievements!
A single sweep of his trident sent three pirates flying.
Then, his body transformed into white mochi, allowing the pirates’ weapons to pass harmlessly through him. It was clear he already possessed glimpses of future sight, a premonition of what was to come.
Though the Mochi Mochi Fruit gave him elemental powers, it wasn’t a true Logia-type ability. If Katakuri didn’t actively transform into mochi, he could still be struck.
“Mochi Charge!”
His right arm turned mochi-white and began spinning, swallowing his trident inside.
In an instant, the trident spun wildly, impaling everything in its path.
Blood splattered as the remaining pirates were all blasted away, suffering grievous wounds. One unfortunate soul was cleaved in two.
“Hunting complete!”
Katakuri dragged his left thumb across his nose, then slammed his trident into the ground with a loud thud, announcing triumphantly.
The pirates in the tavern erupted in cheers. “As expected of Katakuri! Incredible!”
Roar lay sprawled lazily on a table, watching Katakuri’s display of power with a casual grin. He echoed the praise, “Truly impressive, my friend! I hereby crown you the strongest ten-year-old on Beehive Island!”
For the youngsters, Beehive Island, teeming with pirates, held little in the way of amusement.
What did pirates do for fun?
Nothing but eating, drinking, carousing, and gambling—activities hardly suitable for children.
So bored kids had to devise their own entertainment. For Katakuri, ‘play’ meant randomly selecting pirates from the island and launching an intense, thrilling pirate hunt.
A hyper-realistic game of house perfectly suited to the frail constitution of Beehive’s little ones.
Roar inhaled deeply, drawing in the black aura emitted by the pirates.
He considered himself a pacifist, uninterested in killing or hunting, but who could resist free afternoon tea?
The victorious Katakuri eagerly approached, pulling out a chair. “That was exhilarating, Roar. Aren’t you joining? Since you officially joined the RocksI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
