Chapter Eleven: The Young Version of the Radiant Seven Stars
“This time, I guarantee you won’t die.”
“I want to see how you, as a father, won’t die, and yet your daughter still becomes a member of the Federal Parliament!”
Xu Zhao withdrew his gaze from Mo Wu and resumed following the formal proceedings of the banquet.
More than an hour later, the tedious formalities of the banquet finally concluded.
Xu Zhao and Xu Yucheng were able to leave the adults' area and board a boat heading toward the outer island, where the children’s district was located.
The island at the heart of the lake was divided into the inner and outer islands.
The circular inner island housed the adults' district; the ring-shaped outer island was designated for children.
This arrangement made it easier for adults to leave the banquet and take their descendants with them.
If it were arranged the other way around, adults would have to make an extra trip to the inner island to fetch their children.
The boat swiftly reached the opposite shore.
After disembarking, Xu Zhao glanced around briefly before leading Xu Yucheng straight westward.
On the western side of the ring-shaped outer island stood several pavilions.
The descendants of Mingdu’s top elite families all resided there.
On the second floor of one of these pavilions, six-year-old Weng Daimin was surprised to see Xu Zhao and Xu Yucheng enter their pavilion. She whispered to her companion, the also six-year-old Xue Liushuang:
“Liushuang, those two from the Xu family just walked into our pavilion!”
“Yes, I saw them,” Xue Liushuang nodded, her calm tone tinged with surprise. “I thought he would first visit the pavilion where the Ye family is, after all, that’s his maternal clan.”
At that moment, Xu Zhao also ascended to the second floor and, overhearing this, said, “You mean Ye Xinglan?”
He then looked toward a nearby pavilion.
There, six-year-old Ye Xinglan sat alone by the railing, lost in thought—a stark contrast to the groups scattered throughout the other pavilions.
“Although the Ye family is my maternal clan, I have no desire to interact with someone suffering from persecution delusions.”
“Persecution delusions?”
Both Xue Liushuang and Weng Daimin were momentarily stunned.
“That’s impossible. She’s allowed to attend the banquet. How could she have such an illness?” they questioned.
Seeing their disbelief, Xu Zhao explained:
“Ye Xinglan is my uncle’s daughter. Her mother passed away when she was three. My uncle remarried and had a son with her.”
“So, what happened afterward… you can imagine.”
“I see,” Xue Liushuang and Weng Daimin immediately envisioned a melodramatic family saga.
Though only six years old, they were from Spirit Master families on Douluo Continent and had received elite education from a young age.
Thus, despite their tender age, their understanding far surpassed that of ordinary six-year-olds.
“As for why she could attend the banquet, that’s obviously due to her talent,” Xu Zhao continued.
“However, Ye Xinglan’s persecution delusions didn’t lessen with her awakening of a powerful martial spirit; instead, they worsened.”
“She believes the Ye family treats her well only because she awakened a good martial spirit and that any outsiders approaching her have ulterior motives.”
A good martial spirit?
Xue Liushuang caught the key phrase.
Her own Xue family inherited the martial spirit of the Radiant Sword, alongside the Ye family’s Star Saint Sword, forming the two top swordsmanship lineages in the Federation.
As the saying goes, rivals of the same trade are sworn enemies.
Therefore, regarding the Star Saint Sword, the Xue family could only claim second place, while the Ye family held the top rank.
Being the heir of the Xue family’s current generation, Xue Liushuang was well aware that the Star Saint Sword could, on rare occasions during awakening, evolve into the Star God Sword.
If Ye Xinglan had merely awakened the Star Saint Sword, Xu Zhao, as the Xu family successor, would not have called it a good martial spirit.
So…
“She awakened the Star God Sword!”
An inexplicable twinge of jealousy flickered in Xue Liushuang’s heart.
Like the Ye family, her Xue family’s inherited Radiant Sword had a chance to evolve into the Moonlight Sword during awakening—a martial spirit of equal stature to the Star God Sword.
She had been confident in her own talent: Radiant Sword martial spirit combined with innate full spirit power, ranking among the top of her generation in Mingdu’s elite families.
But now, Xue Liushuang felt a heavy blow.
Among sword-type martial spirits, the Star God Sword was superior to the Radiant Sword.
As for innate spirit power, Ye Xinglan’s ability to awaken the Star God Sword surely meant she possessed innate full spirit power—undeniable.
Both were girls with innate full power; such luck, why had it not fallen to her?
However, upon glancing at Weng Daimin sitting beside her, Xue Liushuang’s mood brightened considerably.
What was the Star God Sword?
No matter how strong the martial spirit, it could not surpass the power of martial spirit fusion techniques.
Her Radiant Sword and Weng Daimin’s Snow Shadow martial spirit shared an extraordinarily high compatibility—far exceeding the minimum 50% required to perform fusion techniques, reaching an astonishing 91%.
Such incredible compatibility meant they did not need to cultivate tacit understanding; at their first meeting after awakening their martial spirits, they successfully performed their fusion technique—Ice and Snow Goddess!
Among the same-age peers of the top families in Mingdu, Xu Zhao had chosen to approach them first precisely because of their fusion technique.
The martial spirit fusion technique—Ice and Snow Goddess—was the ace of the Elite Seven Stars.
Though the Ice and Snow Goddess performed poorly in the book, easily outmatched by Tang Wulin and Gu Yue’s Divine Dragon Transformation, one must ask: among all martial spirit fusion techniques shown under equal spirit power levels, which would not be defeated by Divine Dragon Transformation?
If any, it would be the fusion technique “Emotion Moves Heaven,” which required the sacrifice of the Ruthless Douluo and Passionate Douluo to perform.
After all, that technique could seal a level-one god, the Abyssal Saint Sovereign, for three full days.
However, these two fusion techniques were special cases.
Divine Dragon Transformation was essentially the fusion of the Golden Dragon King and Silver Dragon King, not a true fusion technique.
Emotion Moves Heaven required sacrificing life to perform, making it a one-time forbidden divine art—hence its power far exceeded conventional fusion techniques.
Therefore, from Xu Zhao’s perspective, excluding Divine Dragon Transformation and Emotion Moves Heaven, the Ice and Snow Goddess fusion technique of Xue Liushuang and Weng Daimin deserved the top spot among all fusion techniques shown.
They were also the only two among the Elite Seven Stars that Xu Zhao wished to ally with.
The Elite Seven Stars was the ace group launched by the Royal Spirit Master Academy of Sun and Moon, intended to rival the Shrek Seven Devils of Shrek Academy.
Due to the battle when Shrek challenged the Royal Academy, only six of the Shrek Seven Devils appeared, and the Elite Seven Stars also only showed six members:
Long Chen, Xue Liushuang, Weng Daimin, You Dingqi, Jian Mochen, and Kuang Zhantian.
The identity of the seventh member remained unknown.
However, since the Royal Spirit Master Academy did not dispatch a seventh person to replace any of the six, it indicated that the seventh’s talent and strength were the lowest among the Elite Seven Stars.
