Chapter 31: The Terror of a King-Level Beast

"Roar!"

Flames engulfed the four leaders, searing their bodies continuously. Even though they were in the middle of a river, the sea of fire burned on the water, defying the laws of nature. Screams echoed incessantly from the inferno, and a faint, charred scent of roasting flesh began to permeate the air. The Iron Turtle King halted, not daring to draw near.

Ye Chuyun stood to the side, feeling a pang of heartache. A spell scroll—one that could have even harmed the Iron Turtle King—was being wasted just to deal with these four subordinates.

Before long, the flames vanished, revealing four scorched corpses. Immediately, four dazzling white lights shot out from the bodies and surged into Ye Chuyun.

"Hahaha, satisfying!" Ye Chuyun was overjoyed. Between the four leaders and the thirty Iron Turtle Beasts and mutant Iron Turtle Beasts he had killed earlier, he had gained a total of 22,600 energy points, enough to level up instantly!

In an instant, a massive surge of energy swept through his entire body, cleansing his marrow and renewing his physique. His latest status panel appeared in his mind:

Name: Ye Chuyun
Level: 8 (5130/5000)
Strength: 309

His backpack was filled with countless spoils, but Ye Chuyun had no time to check them. At this moment, the Iron Turtle King had charged over, less than a few dozen meters away. Seeing its underlings die one by one before this human, the Iron Turtle King was filled with immense grief and rage.

"ROAR!"

With a furious bellow, the Iron Turtle King unleashed its signature skill: Sea King's Fury!

Boom!

The river surged, forming countless blue vortices that spiraled violently upward. Each water spout was massive, reaching heights of over ten meters. The suction generated by such colossal bodies made the surrounding air turbulent. The water spouts spiraled and churned, carrying rocks and broken wood within their terrifying currents as they swept toward Ye Chuyun.

*Oh no!* Ye Chuyun gasped inwardly. He could not take the Sea King's Fury head-on; if he did, his body would be torn to shreds. If he couldn't win, he could at least run! Before the water spouts reached him, Ye Chuyun turned and bolted!

The pursuing spouts whistled past, unstoppable. Ye Chuyun ran with all his might, yet he still could not avoid the aftermath of the attack. Fortunately, the energy of his protective shield had not yet been fully exhausted, barely managing to block the impact.

The water spouts lasted for five minutes before finally dissipating. The protective shield's energy was completely drained, and it entered a cooldown state.

"Huff, huff, huff!" Ye Chuyun stood in place, gasping for air. To evade the spouts, he had exhausted himself running at full speed. The heavy expenditure of stamina left him breathless.

"ROAR!!"

Seeing the human struggling, the Iron Turtle King let out an excited roar and charged again. Ye Chuyun's expression tightened; he intended to retreat once more, but the Iron Turtle King would not grant him the chance.

It stomped its foot!

It activated its innate talent: Water Manipulation. Ye Chuyun had only taken a few steps when he felt his feet being bound, unable to move. Looking down, he realized two streams of water had coiled around his ankles. At that moment, the Iron Turtle King reached him.

Ye Chuyun was shocked and hurriedly slashed his blade at the water streams. He then leaped into the air, retreating frantically. The Iron Turtle King looked on with contempt, opened its maw, and spat a pillar of water that struck Ye Chuyun squarely in the chest.

Ye Chuyun was stunned; he hadn't expected the Iron Turtle King to react so quickly. With no time to dodge, he had to take the full force of the blast. Instantly, he felt a sharp pain in his chest, his blood churning, and fresh blood spilled from his mouth involuntarily.

Thud! Splash!

He landed heavily in the water, limbs splayed, feeling dizzy. His high Spirit allowed him to regain his senses quickly; he rolled over and scrambled to his feet.

It was truly worthy of being a King-level beast. Its intelligence, combat power, and innate skills far exceeded those of the leader-level beasts. Although the opponent's displayed combat power was only 2800, with all its talents and skills combined, it was at least 3500.

"Roar, roar, roar!" The Iron Turtle King was delighted. Dealing with this human was far too easy. It would now deliver the finishing blow! Using the last of its spiritual energy, the Iron Turtle King unleashed "Sea King's Fury" once more. Countless water spouts reappeared!

"Damn it!!" Ye Chuyun felt his scalp tingle. Gritting his teeth, he pulled out another spell scroll: Gale Storm. He unfurled it instantly, and the scroll vanished into stardust.

Whoosh!

As the scroll disappeared, the air suddenly changed. Countless ten-meter-tall tornadoes appeared out of thin air, spinning at a terrifying speed and emitting a hissing whistle. Simultaneously, the water spouts continued to howl as they bore down on Ye Chuyun.

However, the tornadoes collided with them first!

Two immense forces clashed, creating a chaotic battlefield. The tornadoes whirled around the water spouts, continuously weakening their power. As the gales swept through and the water tore apart, it was a spectacular sight.

Five minutes later, the two forces neutralized each other and dissipated into the ether.

The Iron Turtle King was dumbfounded. It never expected this human to have another trump card.

"All or nothing!!" Ye Chuyun gritted his teeth. He decided to go all the way and pulled out his final spell scroll: Blizzard. It was the last one he had.

"ROAR!"

Seeing the human pull out yet another scroll, the Iron Turtle King let out a cry of sheer terror. It immediately turned and fled toward the depths of the river.

*Damn you, you sly fox, trying to run, are you?* Ye Chuyun was startled. He couldn't let the Iron Turtle King escape. He hurriedly activated the scroll!

Boom!

Snow fell from the sky. The river around the Iron Turtle King instantly froze into ice, and the creature itself was encased, turning into a giant ice block. The blizzard had successfully restricted the Iron Turtle King's movements.

Ye Chuyun finally sighed in relief, but his brow immediately furrowed. He was now facing a massive dilemma.
