When Lys saw that Dyson no longer resisted and chose to concede, he also breathed a sigh of relief. To be honest, his mana was nearly depleted, and he was close to collapsing. Glancing at the azure fireball in his hand, he decided to take the easy way out and hurled it toward the open space far from the others.

Boom!

A deafening explosion echoed as the packed earth beneath the blue orb’s impact shattered like tofu. A pit several times larger and deeper than the previous fireball appeared before them.

“Young Master Lys... that was terrifying!” Dyson, still lying prone, stared blankly at the smoldering crater radiating blue flames nearby. The intense heat was palpable even from such a distance.

“If that strike had hit me, I probably wouldn’t have been left with even a scrap,” he muttered.

“Is he really just an apprentice mage?”

Wulf, who had been watching the entire duel, clearly felt the overwhelming power of that spell. His shock made him realize that such magic could pose a threat even to him.

Who was he?

A Golden Warrior! Among the warrior classes, the advanced warriors were the kingdom’s elite forces—rare even within ten thousand warriors.

Normally, a low-level spell couldn’t penetrate his battle Qi defenses. Yet that strange blue fireball in Lys’s hand had clearly broken through and harmed him, which was incredible.

If before the duel Wulf had treated Lys with respect only because of Steward Joyce’s influence, now he genuinely felt a hint of fear deep in his heart for his young viscount.

As for Bill, standing beside Wulf, his face had turned pale and his legs weak, nearly collapsing.

Lys paid no mind to the guards’ expressions. Taking deep breaths to steady his wildly beating heart, he checked the system notifications that had just appeared.

-----------------

Lys hadn’t expected to trigger a limited challenge task—one of the most enticing features in “Divine Revelation.”

When players challenge NPCs, wild monsters, or bosses, there is a chance to activate these limited tasks. The rewards are generous, including the possibility of acquiring the opponent’s skills and talents, along with substantial experience and gold.

However, such lucrative rewards come with high difficulty and rarity.

First, these tasks only trigger under solo challenge conditions.

Second, the system must judge that the enemy’s level is close to or higher than the player’s for the task to appear.

In “Divine Revelation,” due to factors like equipment and talents, NPCs at the same level are often much stronger than ordinary players—especially key figures in the main storyline, whom even professional players struggle to face.

Often, a single story boss requires a massive number of players to push through, suffering horribly in the process.

Therefore, few players managed to complete these tasks and claim their rewards in past lives, yet many players still eagerly sought them out. Over time, NPCs that triggered these challenges easily began avoiding players.

Imagine walking peacefully when suddenly a weirdly dressed stranger jumps out yelling, “Sun scoundrel!” demanding a duel.

Encountering hundreds of such lunatics daily would drive anyone mad.

After some thought, Lys decided against hunting for other limited challenge tasks. First, his strength was insufficient; defeating Dyson was luck, and he needed to improve.

He could have his companions Wulf and the others assist, but the chance to trigger these tasks was low, and if they held back too much, the rewards would diminish significantly.

Had he not passed the hidden judgment, the rewards wouldn’t be so generous.

Lys guessed that if he had cheated to defeat Wulf, the system would have at most tossed a few gold coins his way out of courtesy.

Shaking his head to dismiss such thoughts, Lys happily began tallying the abundant rewards.

“330,000 experience points, delicious! That’ll easily level me up twice.”

“A hundred gold coins—if this was the start of the server, that would be a fortune. Now that I’m a viscount… still quite a lot!”

The real excitement began as Lys rubbed his hands and opened the detailed descriptions of the talents and skill he had gained.

-----------------

“Fearless Challenger”—Reduces damage from rank suppression by 30%, with a chance to resist negative statuses such as fear, intimidation, silence, confusion, and charm.

Page 3/3

“Low-Level Resilient Body”—Increases health by 10%, accelerates recovery from light injuries, and slightly boosts toughness and elemental resistance.

“Martial Technique: Furious Slash”—An intermediate warrior skill that deals theoretical damage equal to (30% of own lost health + 200% of strength attribute) to an enemy, with a chance to apply the intimidation effect. Cooldown: 10 minutes.

-----------------

Lys decided not to focus on “Furious Slash” yet, as he lacked the experience to upgrade it, and the chance to trigger intimidation at low levels was too low.

“Fearless Challenger” was quite useful. Every player gained it upon first challenging a higher-level enemy, and its chance to negate negative statuses could prove crucial in battle.

“Low-Level Resilient Body” was a passive talent that directly enhanced his durability. Warrior players only became nearly indestructible top-tier tanks after acquiring many such passives, so the more the better.

“Low-Level Resilient Body” and “Furious Slash” likely came from Dyson, Lys thought eagerly, casting a keen glance at Wulf.

If even a Silver Warrior yielded such treasures, what grand prizes could be harvested from the Golden Warrior Wulf?

Nodding to himself, Lys silently added challenging Wulf to his mental to-do list.

Wulf, helping Dyson to his feet, felt a chill deep in his heart. He looked around nervously, as if something foul was watching him.

Seeing Dyson laboriously cleaning the black oily substance clinging to him, Lys mused that the Greasy Spell might have further potential beyond just annoying people. It was too useful not to research when he had time.

Noticing Dyson’s slow progress and Bill still pale from the earlier shock, Wulf gripped his sword and stood before Lys, ready to continue their training.

He dared not slack off anymore, even though Lys appeared weary. Without Lys’s explicit instruction, he wouldn’t dare suggest ending early.

“Blame this guy!” Wulf looked disdainfully at Bill, who was cowering timidly to the side.

He thought firmly that Bill needed much more rigorous training. He had been too lenient before. How could Bill ever serve as a proper guard for Young Master Lys otherwise?

Yet Lys had no intention to continue training. After a word with Wulf and the others, they prepared to return and rest.

Tomorrow, they had to visit the Royal Feis Magical Academy again, so there was no need to overexert today.
