Chapter 120: Still Not Planning to Go Public?
Lu Qingyue realized, somewhat belatedly, that Cheng Xingye seemed to enjoy having her sit on his lap.
His strong, lean arms easily wrapped around her, while his other hand pressed against the back of her head, preventing her from pulling away. Their ragged breathing intertwined, and the temperature in the air was enough to make one’s heart race with unease. Lu Qingyue felt that this kiss held a different meaning compared to the previous ones; his movements were no longer gentle and lingering, but instead filled with possessiveness and oppression—a raw, dangerous dominance that belonged solely to a male.
Her cheeks burned from his kisses, and her lips felt itchy and numb from his suction, yet she couldn't bear to pull away from him. The light and shadows of the movie flickered past, leaving the room in a state of chaotic, quiet intimacy.
It wasn't until Lu Qingyue finally ran out of breath that she pushed against his chest to move him away. She remained sitting on his lap, taking a moment to steady her ragged breathing. Cheng Xingye still sat with his legs spread wide, his eyes clouded with lingering desire, looking up at her with an open, forthright gaze.
Lu Qingyue originally hadn't intended to say anything, but seeing his composed, self-assured demeanor stirred a desire to tease him. Summoning her courage, she leaned over him and whispered with a suppressed giggle, "Cheng Xingye, I actually saw it just now."
Cheng Xingye, confused, cast a faint glance at her. "Hmm? Saw what?"
Seeing his bewilderment, Lu Qingyue lowered her head and took a swift, suggestive look at his lap. She blinked with mischievous intent, wiped the smile from her face, and said with feigned seriousness, "You don't need to feel embarrassed. It’s just a normal physiological reaction for a man. We’re both adults; I understand."
Cheng Xingye: "..."
He hadn't expected to be taken advantage of right under his own nose. He immediately sat up, speechless, and pulled a nearby throw pillow over his lap to block her wandering gaze.
Lu Qingyue couldn't stop laughing. She draped her small hands loosely around his neck and added, with a cheeky grin, "But I’ve discovered that what they say online is true: gray really does make it look bigger."
Cheng Xingye was wearing gray sweatpants today, and at a glance, the visual effect was indeed striking. Lu Qingyue was a novice who hadn't seen much of the world, so she naturally found the sight both fascinating and heart-pounding. However, since it was her first time witnessing such a thing, she calmly looked away after a few seconds.
Cheng Xingye stared at her, speechless, before letting out a scoff of disdain. Did he really need the color gray to look bigger?!
Possessing a mischievous and flirtatious little girlfriend, his threshold for shame was increasing by the day. He merely sighed lazily in response, "Whether it looks big or not isn't something you should be worrying about right now."
Lu Qingyue blinked. "Then what should I be worrying about?"
The movie screen dimmed, leaving only a faint glow to outline the man’s sharp, defined features. Cheng Xingye thought about how she had been eyed with leering gazes and teased with vulgar remarks earlier that day, and a surge of stifled anger and hostility rose within him. He pulled her closer, his Adam's apple bobbing as he asked, with a pointed tone, "You’ve seen my entire body now—aren't you planning to go public?"
He had actually thought about this several times, but because the young girl was still in military training, he hadn't had the chance to bring it up.
Lu Qingyue gave a bewildered "Ah," not knowing why he had brought this up. She let out a long, helpless sigh. "I’ve actually told people you’re my boyfriend, but no one believes me. In their eyes, you’re a god that mere mortals like me can't touch."
Before this, while she was in high school, she hadn't realized how legendary Cheng Xingye was at Jiang University. Just in the one week of military training, she had heard his name mentioned by the people around her several times. As a freshman who had just entered the university, telling others she was dating the most popular senior on campus would only make them think she was daydreaming; no one would take her seriously.
Cheng Xingye scoffed. He had long been accustomed to being placed on such an impossibly high pedestal, though he never considered himself as divine as the legends suggested. He reached out to stroke her soft hair, winding a strand around his finger absentmindedly, his voice low and slow. "Even gods have cravings."
Gods, too, would pray under the moonlight, begging the heavens to grant them a little moon.
However, the "moon" in his arms had no idea that she was a treasure he cherished deeply. She blinked in confusion and asked, "What would a god crave?"
Her expression was blank and curious, like a young animal that had just learned how to forage—ignorant and adorable. Cheng Xingye smiled silently and reached out to pinch her cheek. "I crave a little brat whose head is filled with nothing but dirty thoughts."
...
As the night grew deeper, the movie continued to play, though no one was watching.
The two shared a series of dense, lingering kisses. Finally, feeling satisfied, Lu Qingyue lay contentedly and softly in his arms, waiting for Lu Yi to pick her up. Cheng Xingye had originally planned to drive her back himself, but Lu Qingyue felt it wasn't safe for him to be running back and forth at night—not to mention the risk of him being targeted by other girls again—so she called her "cheap" older brother to act as their chauffeur.
Lu Yi drove over late at night. The moment he pulled the car to a stop, he saw the two of them walking out of the complex, looking very cozy. Cheng Xingye was dressed in casual wear, his tall, long-legged frame giving him an air of cold, aristocratic detachment. Yet, with his left hand holding Lu Qingyue’s and his right hand holding a dog, he carried a touch of warmth and domesticity.
Lu Yi couldn't help but roll his eyes with a cold expression. So, she didn't want to let her boyfriend drive her home, but she had no problem ordering him around to do the legwork!
They were being all lovey-dovey upstairs while he was left outside in the wind; no one but his own sister—whose schemes were as numerous as a hornet's nest—would ever pull such a stunt. Lu Yi wore a sour expression, his eyes lazily scanning the pair as they approached.
Lu Qingyue, completely oblivious, rubbed against Cheng Xingye’s chest before reaching for the car door. It wouldn't budge—he had locked it. She let out an "eh" and, puzzled, leaned over to knock on the driver’s side window. The cold-faced chauffeur rolled the glass down, looking thoroughly impatient.
Lu Qingyue blinked blankly. "Brother, why didn't you open the door?"
Lu Yi cast a frigid glare at her. "Don't you have a driver? Why are you ordering me around in the middle of the night?"
Lu Qingyue scratched her head, feeling rather embarrassed, and flashed him a conciliatory smile. "But he’s my boyfriend! I’d feel bad making him do it!"
Lu Yi: "Then why didn't you just hail a taxi?"
Lu Qingyue chuckled. "Then he would feel bad for me!"
Lu Yi: "..."
So, nobody feels bad for me, is that it?!
He glared at her speechlessly before turning his gaze to the "refined scoundrel" behind her. "You’re something else, Cheng Xingye. You’ve only been dating for a month and you’ve already whisked my sister away. I’m telling you, I’ll break your legs sooner or later."
Cheng Xingye: "..."
Before he could speak, Lu Qingyue blocked him, shielding him from Lu Yi’s gaze, and retorted indignantly, "We didn't even do anything!"
Why was he so obsessed with her boyfriend’s legs anyway?
Lu Yi stared at her coldly for a few seconds before finally unlocking the door with a click, leaving behind one icy remark: "You had better mean that!"
