Chapter 129: Kicked Her Out of Bed with One Foot

Perhaps it was because she had just woken up and her mind wasn’t quite clear, or maybe it was curiosity that killed the cat.
Lu Qingyue stood dazed outside the door, staring at the scene before her, momentarily so captivated by the spectacular sight that she couldn’t look away.
She hadn’t expected Cheng Xingye, usually so low-key and modest, to have such a well-defined physique...
All this time he had been hiding it away—who did he think was an outsider?
Lu Qingyue admired the view in awe for quite some time, swallowing hard without realizing it before finally snapping back to her senses.
Bah! It’s just a normal physiological phenomenon for men! No need to be so mesmerized!
She silently scolded herself, her ears tinged with a faint blush, and quickly averted her gaze.
hOShinO, however, was unfazed by the scene. After all, it had been sleeping in Cheng Xingye’s bedroom for years and was very familiar with its owner.
Seeing its master, hOShinO took the initiative, slipping through the gap by her feet and wagging its tail affectionately as it rubbed against Cheng Xingye’s hand hanging off the bed.
Probably from years of exercise, the man’s arms were firm and lean. Pale blue veins faintly traced beneath the skin like restrained sensuality, inexplicably making one’s throat dry.
Lu Qingyue watched as hOShinO nuzzled his arm, and without even opening his eyes, Cheng Xingye instinctively raised his hand slightly, stroking the dog’s head with his long fingers as if telling it not to misbehave.
After all, this was a dog he had raised for years; such unconscious interaction was perfectly natural.
But Lu Qingyue suddenly widened her eyes.
This was her boyfriend! Why was he being favored by this silly dog?
Determined not to be outdone, she tiptoed into the bedroom and, mimicking hOShinO, gently brushed her hair against the sleeping man’s arm.
Probably thinking hOShinO was still fooling around, Cheng Xingye didn’t even open his eyelids; he just turned over under the covers, ignoring her.
With the bed behind him now empty, and seeing no sign of him getting up, Lu Qingyue kicked off her shoes and lifted the blanket to lie down where he had just been sleeping.

The large bedroom was dimly lit. Seeing that she also lay down, hOShinO seemed bored, wagged its tail, and left.
Lu Qingyue swore she had no intention of napping again. But as she lay there, sleepiness crept back.
So close to him, it seemed even their breathing had synchronized.
Lowering her eyelashes, she relaxed her body slowly and soon drifted into a vague sleep.
...
The curtains hung from the floor-to-ceiling windows, and on the wall, a classic clock ticked softly with each carved hand’s move.
The breathing on the bed was long and peaceful. Even hOShinO obediently tucked its tail and curled up on the rug by the door.
The morning was serene, a sliver of light slipping through the curtain’s gap.
Perhaps wrapped in his scent on his big bed, Lu Qingyue unconsciously let down her guard and comfortably stretched her arms and legs.
At that moment, she completely forgot there was an unguarded man lying beside her.
As she stretched, her foot brushed against something hard and unfamiliar, prompting a muffled groan from the sleeping man, his brows instantly furrowing tightly.
Half-asleep and groggy, his mind clouded, Cheng Xingye was woken by the inexplicable dull pain. Without opening his eyes, he sensed a warm, furry little thing had appeared next to him.
hOShinO was well-trained and never got on the bed without permission.
So, in the dim light, Cheng Xingye decisively threw off the covers and kicked the strange little thing at his feet off the bed.
...
The early autumn sunlight shimmered, the air dry and cool.

The master bedroom floor was covered with a thick Persian rug, its vibrant colors bold and vivid, bursting with life.
On this soft and beautiful morning...
Suddenly, the large bedroom echoed with a heavy thud.
The little rascal who had unwittingly attacked the man’s most vulnerable spot had no idea what had happened and was unexpectedly kicked off the bed.
Lu Qingyue was startled awake the moment she fell.
She snapped her eyes open, still processing what had happened, only to see Cheng Xingye’s equally shocked face peering down at her from above.
...
Lu Qingyue was never one to be overly dramatic. Even though she and Lu Yi had bickered since childhood, she could quickly regain her composure.
Yet now, locked in startled eye contact with Cheng Xingye, the awkward silence between them seemed almost suffocating.
Cheng Xingye was clearly just as shocked, his hair tousled and messy, as he hurriedly sat up. “Why are you here?!”
He hadn’t slept well the night before, waking several times to check on her, worried the little rascal might be scared and sneak over to him for comfort.
But after waiting all night for nothing, he had finally fallen into a deep sleep at dawn, never expecting she would suddenly appear and pull such a surprise attack.
If he hadn’t been wearing thicker sleep pants, the little rascal’s happiness for the rest of its life would have been in jeopardy by her actions.
Lu Qingyue, however, was even more speechless, letting out an indignant snort. “Weren’t you the one who kicked me here?!”
She had been lying peacefully on the big bed—who would have thought she could be kicked off?!
