Qingyue Lu’s expression of grievance and speechlessness was entirely genuine.

Although the master bedroom floor was covered with a thick carpet, the pain in her tailbone from the fall was dull and persistent. Sitting on the floor now, she didn’t dare put much weight on it.

Xingye Cheng opened his mouth but was left speechless, caught off guard by her.

After several seconds of silence, he awkwardly pursed his lips and quickly reached out to lift Qingyue up from the floor.

Qingyue stiffened and whimpered, refusing to reach up and wrap her arms around his neck.

She subtly studied Cheng’s expression, seeing his mixture of confusion, helplessness, and guilt. Seizing the opportunity, she shed some feigned crocodile tears in his embrace, deliberately teasing, “Xingye Cheng, you owe me an explanation! If people find out I just started dating and my boyfriend kicked me out of bed, where will my dignity be left?!”

Despite his guilt, Cheng’s wits remained sharp.

This little troublemaker had been crying for a while but hadn’t shed a single tear—it was clear she was putting on a show for him.

Amused yet speechless, he sat her on his lap and coaxed her softly, “If neither of us says anything, who else would know about this?”

Qingyue immediately let out an exaggerated wail, “But my butt hurts!”

It did hurt, actually—the pain flared whenever she thought about it. Qingyue called it “mind pain,” a pain felt only through sheer willpower.

After all, Cheng was feeling guilty right now!

She keenly sensed this was a perfect chance to push her advantage.

Cheng knew she was acting but didn’t realize he was being led into a trap.

Holding the soft, petite body of his little girl, he felt a bit distracted as she snuggled against him, and couldn’t help but lean down to kiss her earlobe, soothing her gently, “Then shall I massage it for you?”

Qingyue shot him a glare. “You wish!”

Who could be so obvious about wanting to take advantage of her!

Whenever Qingyue was up to mischief, her eyes held a different kind of light. Cheng was all too familiar with that look and immediately understood.

Even though he knew she was scheming again, he went along with it quietly and humbly asked, “Then how should I comfort you? Teach me.”

Thinking he had fallen for her trick, Qingyue immediately broke into tears and snot, acting with utmost realism, “No amount of comforting will work! Unless...”

Cheng knew that the word “unless” was where her real intention lay.

He spread his legs slightly, holding her in his arms as she sat, then casually looked up and prompted her, “Unless what?”

Seeing him take the bait, Qingyue’s gaze drifted downward a few inches.

Cheng, puzzled, followed her gaze.

Before he could realize what she was looking at, she demanded matter-of-factly, “Unless you let me touch your leg!”

Cheng was speechless.

The curtains were drawn, the room dim, with only a few thin beams of light slipping in from outside the bedroom door.

Cheng knew shameless people existed in the world, but he never imagined one so close—right in his arms.

Thinking of how his long legs had been coveted by this girl for two years, and that she was someone he had watched grow up, he felt a bit uneasy.

He sighed silently, smirking, then lightly lifted his foot and bounced the little figure sitting on his lap without mercy.

“Can’t you have some other interests?”

Qingyue’s body trembled from the bounce and she instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck.

She was straightforward and matter-of-fact, “I’m only eighteen. What else could I want?”

Besides, appetite and desire were natural; if she wasn’t stealing or robbing, what was wrong with having a bit of lust?

Unwittingly drawn into her reasoning, Cheng thought, that made sense.

For a girl raised in a sheltered, sweet environment like hers, life’s only pursuit was probably to seize the moment and enjoy the present.

Cheng sighed lightly and couldn’t resist pinching her nose, “You’re so self-righteous.”

Qingyue wasn’t just self-righteous—she was full of twisted logic.

Seeing Cheng neither agree nor refuse to let her touch his leg, she lifted her face slightly and boldly said, “Some people are in love, some drive to the sea at night. Some get kicked out of bed by their boyfriends and can’t get up.”

Cheng was speechless. Couldn’t she just say it plainly? Why did she have to put it in rhyme?

Qingyue looped her arms around his neck, her eyes shining like a full moon.

The cunning moon leaned closer, deliberately pressing against his ear, putting on a shy and obedient expression as she whispered, “So, Brother Xingye, life is full of turmoil. Now that you’re with me, can you teach me what love is?”

Cheng found the first part quite normal, but when he heard the last sentence, his brow lifted slightly.

“Wh-what do you mean by ‘make love’?”

He thought he misheard and repeated incredulously.

Seeing his baffled look, Qingyue stifled a laugh and, keeping a serious face, corrected him, “What, make love. Didn’t you learn how to pause properly in language class?”

Cheng was speechless.

He felt that all his vigilance in life had probably been spent guarding against her schemes.

He gave her a cold glance, deliberately rubbed her waist with a teasing tone, and said softly, “Don’t worry. If you keep being this cheeky, sooner or later, I’ll teach you exactly what ‘make love’ means.”

Qingyue was left speechless.
