Chapter 105: Love Makes Those in Power Bow
After a chaotic night.
The proud lion bowed before him, and Shen Jixing became the new master of his life.
"Who are you going to meet?"
Zhou Yili was almost attentive to the point of perfection, serving him with care; even dinner was spoon-fed, each mouthful cooled before offering. "Does it have to be today?"
Shen Jixing replied calmly, "I scheduled it for today."
He was always meticulous about time, so Zhou Yili said nothing more. He blew on the milk and fed him, "What time?"
Shen Jixing looked at the warm cup of milk before him, unable to drink, "Eight o'clock."
Zhou Yili glanced at the time—seven in the evening.
"That's enough time."
Shen Jixing's temple gave a subtle twitch, feeling as if each word was forced out, "I meant eight in the morning."
"......"
Who could have guessed Zhou Yili was such a madman?
Not to mention eight in the morning—at ten, still half-asleep, he would be sprawled across the pillow, burying his head, frowning and trembling as he bit into the soft fabric.
Zhou Yili belatedly laughed, "Oh, so it was eight in the morning."
This little lion didn’t even realize he'd made a mistake.
He squinted, smiling slowly, then suddenly realized, "Why aren’t you drinking?"
Shen Jixing moved away expressionless, "I’m full. I’m going to change."
Zhou Yili’s gaze dropped slightly, "Are you angry? Shen Jixing."
Whether it was Shen Jixing’s illusion or reality, today, despite Zhou Yili’s usual proud and lazy demeanor, he was noticeably clingier, even without the aid of alcohol.
"No."
Zhou Yili refused to believe it, "You are. Otherwise, how could you not drink even your favorite milk?"
His self-control had always been lacking; last night, he’d tried to restrain himself. In the bathroom, he’d been gentle, letting Shen Jixing rest, asking if it was all right to continue.
Even if the rest lasted only five minutes.
Shen Jixing snatched the milk cup from his hand, twisted Zhou Yili's sharp jaw, and forced the rest of the milk into him.
His frosted brows and eyes were full of disdain.
"You think I can still drink this?"
He didn’t even want to look at it.
Zhou Yili knew Shen Jixing’s health was poor; most things wouldn’t go down easily, so last night, Shen Jixing was covered in these disgraceful marks.
Zhou Yili’s repeated challenges pushed the limits of Shen Jixing’s severe cleanliness.
Zhou Yili paused, "Wasn’t it...?"
He didn’t force Shen Jixing, simply drank the milk, then carried him to the dressing room to change.
"I wasn’t thinking like that. How are you so impure?"
"Zhou Yili!"
Zhou Yili suppressed a laugh as he dressed him. "I’ll make you some warm porridge when you get home tonight, sweet porridge, is that all right?"
Shen Jixing sat atop the low cabinet, looking down at him.
After a while, he gave a faint nod.
"All right."
Zhou Yili’s lips curled slightly; he couldn’t describe the feeling in his chest, as if soaking in a jar of honey. He wished this moment could last forever.
He slowly knelt to put shoes on Shen Jixing.
Shen Jixing had regained his composure, really not so fragile. "I can do it myself."
Zhou Yili held his ankle, head lowered as he slipped on the shoes.
Then he removed the sensor from Shen Jixing’s ankle and fastened it onto his own wrist, naturally.
He didn’t mind.
Letting Shen Jixing feel his erratic heartbeat at all times.
"What’s wrong?" Zhou Yili noticed Shen Jixing staring at him without blinking.
Surrounded by suits overhead, Shen Jixing seemed a pale jade statue in the cabinet, features so white and beautiful as to be almost translucent.
Zhou Yili leaned in, smiling, "Hmm?"
Shen Jixing looked away, the tips of his lashes catching the light. "If we ignore the physical reactions..."
He turned back, gazing straight at the lazy, smiling little lion.
"I’d think I was the one who slept with you."
...
Once again, Zhou Yili abandoned his work.
His excuse: "Meeting paused, I’m going to be my wife’s chauffeur."
The team: "???"
Countless words stuck in their throats, finally condensed to six simple ones.
Is he insane?
"This is what it’s like to fawn over Brother Shen," someone whispered seriously.
Sikong Xiu glanced sideways lazily, "Why are you here again?"
Bearbear answered in confusion, quietly, "Brother Shen’s contract is expiring soon, nothing for me to do, so they sent me to Queen’s Palace to help out."
Everyone in Queen’s Palace: "......"
The agent slapped the table, "This album only made it to release thanks to my daily prayers."
Bearbear quickly followed suit, bowing with the others.
Sikong Xiu pressed his fist to his lips, unable to hold back a small laugh, "Where did Shen Jixing find such a treasure? Never seen such a foolish assistant."
After speaking, he took another look.
...
"Enough, stop hugging."
Before getting out of the car, Shen Jixing rejected Zhou Yili’s request for a cuddle.
Zhou Yili’s hand, sensor clasped, paused regretfully in mid-air.
"Can you manage?" His proud face betrayed a hint of concern. "Didn’t you say your body’s reaction..."
Shen Jixing cut him off coldly, "I didn’t mean that."
His health was poor, but not so bad as to be incapacitated after a wild night.
What sort of talk was that?
Zhou Yili knew Shen Jixing valued his dignity, so he laughed, teasing, "Then what reaction? Pleasure... ah, fine, fine, I won’t say it."
Shen Jixing calmly withdrew his hand from pinching Zhou Yili’s ear.
Zhou Yili carelessly traced his slightly reddened ear, "I’m the one reacting, you’re pretty savage."
The bite marks on his shoulder hadn’t healed yet.
Shen Jixing opened the car door and got out, "Serves you right."
Zhou Yili watched him move as usual, nothing like his delicate morning self, and leaned out as if to get out too. "You really don’t want me to come with you?"
Shen Jixing had come to the company.
His contract was ending; today, he was here to terminate it.
Shen Jixing didn’t pause, in the dimming light, he turned back to look at Zhou Yili, "No need. Wait for me here."
Zhou Yili watched him through the cool evening breeze.
The long wind tousled Shen Jixing’s hair; on his neck was a vivid kiss mark, and his cold, proud face wore an unreal, gentle smile.
"Wait for the whole me."
The final contract.
From now on, he would have no ties to Bo Yu.
Shen Jixing would belong only to himself—a completeness he’d never had from birth.
Zhou Yili looked at the smile on his lips, suddenly feeling Shen Jixing was so handsome that his scalp tingled.
"Hopeless."
Shen Jixing tossed him a line.
Zhou Yili rested his arm on the car window, and suddenly realized the rose hidden beneath the snow-white cuff. "That’s too unfair..."
Shen Jixing said nothing more, lips curled as he walked away.
Zhou Yili settled back in the car, and suddenly heard a phone ringing.
Not his phone—Shen Jixing’s.
[Little Que]
Zhou Yili, jealous even of his own brother, muttered, "Little Que?"
Shen Jixing had never called him by any pet name.
He squinted, annoyed, and saw Sheng Que’s excited message.
[Little Que]: Brother Shen, I slept with Uncle last night!!!
Zhou Yili lowered his gaze and typed carelessly.
[S]: Oh. I also slept with Little Zhou Baby last night!!! (˃ ⌑ ˂ഃ)
