Chapter 115: Setting the Record Straight—This Is Not a Rumor
Page 1/3
Shen Jixing worked with remarkable efficiency. Especially without Zhou Yili causing trouble, he wrapped up the reshoot in about half a day. No matter how heart-wrenching the scene, he could nail it almost in one take. Sikong Xiu was genuinely impressed and said, “Wrap up, good job.” Shen Jixing wiped the dampness from the corner of his eyes—rarely did he play a role requiring so many tearful scenes. The past two days had taken a toll; his eyes were slightly red and swollen. Yet, Zhou Yili loved seeing him like this.
Shen Jixing replied, “Not hard, just a hard life.”
“…”
Xiong Xiong handed him an ice pack to reduce the swelling. “My brother’s amazing. He used to shoot quickly on big sets, and everyone loved him.”
Shooting so well and efficiently was a pleasure for those present. Sikong Xiu lifted his eyelids slightly and teased, “Big sets? Is there no room for you here?”
Xiong Xiong froze. He didn’t mean it that way—just that big productions had more people, whereas small music video shoots were more intimate. Facing Sikong Xiu’s half-smiling, sly fox-like eyes, Xiong Xiong turned and hid behind Shen Jixing.
“Brother, when will you take me away?”
Shen Jixing had just unlocked his phone and glanced sideways at Xiong Xiong. “What’s wrong?”
Lately, Shen Jixing hadn’t taken many gigs; his contract matters were ongoing, and endorsements were eagerly awaiting his official announcement of a new agency. Meanwhile, Zhou Yili’s side was rushing to fill vacancies.
Shen Jixing casually asked, “You don’t like it here?”
Xiong Xiong was simple-minded and found these three a bit rude.
“No, no, it’s just…”
He hesitated, and Shen Jixing was patient. “It’s okay, just say it.”
Though his tone remained cold and indifferent, he was extremely patient with those close to him. The assistant who’d worked with him for eight years was like a younger brother.
Finally, Xiong Xiong grabbed his shirt and pointed at a man not far off. “He’s always bullying me.”
Shen Jixing looked toward Sikong Xiu.
The tall, long-legged man was directing the scene, his lazy fox-like eyes giving off a sly, unapproachable vibe.
At least he was more than capable of bullying Xiong Xiong.
“How?” Shen Jixing asked.
Xiong Xiong pursed his lips and whispered, “He blew air into my eyes today.”
“Like this.”
“Hoo~”
Just as Xiong Xiong puffed his cheeks, a breeze swept behind his ear. He yelped and dashed behind Shen Jixing.
Sikong Xiu laughed, curling his lips. “You silly little bear, why’re you tattling behind my back?”
“…”
Here’s what happened.
Sikong Xiu had tried to contact Shen Jixing but was politely refused by Zhou Yili, who said, “Please don’t contact my wife privately.”

Sikong Xiu was speechless and could only add Shen Jixing’s assistant on WeChat to conveniently notify about reshoots.
He looked at Xiong Xiong’s WeChat name: O.O
“What kind of name is that?” Sikong Xiu found it amusing.
Xiong Xiong seriously explained, “Because my eyes are different sizes—one big, one small.”
Sikong Xiu hadn’t really noticed before.
“Really? Let me see.”
Xiong Xiong brushed up his bangs to show him. Under his forehead, one eye was slightly rounder, the other had a deeper eyelid crease. The difference was subtle unless you looked carefully.
Sikong Xiu, accustomed to the many striking faces in the industry—especially his own with its exotic features that fans called worthy of debuting—found this youthful face quite pleasing.
He and Zhou Yili had been childhood friends.
When they were playful, neither was inferior to the other.
He lazily cast his fox-like eyes and blew on Xiong Xiong’s face, “Hoo~”
Xiong Xiong’s eyes snapped wide open, and he retreated as far as he could. “W-what are you doing?”
Seeing Xiong Xiong blush all the way to his neck, Sikong Xiu noted he had never met someone so innocent in the workplace.
“Nothing, just teasing you.”
“…”
Shen Jixing could only say, these two brothers of Zhou Yili were truly alike when it came to teasing.
“I’ll check my schedule these days. Filming’s almost done today; you can go home and rest.”
Xiong Xiong was unexpectedly given a break.
“Hey, aren’t you going to thank me?” Sikong Xiu asked slowly with a sly glance.
Xiong Xiong met his sharp, exotic gaze and shyly looked away.
“I won’t, I won’t thank you.”
The assistant went to pack up his things, and Shen Jixing turned back to Sikong Xiu.
“He likes girls.”
Sikong Xiu raised an eyebrow. “Hmm?”
“He’s had a crush on a girl for a long time. She’s not very decent, and Xiong Xiong often secretly sends her money.”
Shen Jixing rarely interfered in others’ affairs. After a few reminders went unheeded, he stopped pushing. But he deliberately didn’t give Xiong Xiong much rest.
“This script fits his goofy look,” Sikong Xiu chuckled.
“Yeah, if you could bring him back on the right path, that’d be good.”
Shen Jixing took it as a favor returned to Sikong Xiu.
Sikong Xiu lifted his fox-like eyes, bored. “I’m not that noble, just amusing myself.”
Shen Jixing nodded without further comment.
Then he asked, “Will Zhou Yili attend tonight’s Blue Eucalyptus Ceremony?”
“I’ll ask.”
Shen Jixing’s brow twitched slightly as Sikong Xiu called out to the person behind him, “Hey, Zhou Yili, your wife’s asking if you’re going to the Blue Eucalyptus Ceremony tonight?”
Zhou Yili was glancing sideways, speaking with his manager.
He arched an eyebrow and walked over, a slight smile curling his lips. “Why are you shouting nonsense?”

Then he wrapped his arms around Shen Jixing’s waist from behind, resting his chin on his neck to recharge, “This isn’t my business; he asked for it himself. Do you want me to accompany you? Why didn’t you ask me? Shy, huh?”
His manager’s lips had gone dry from talking, only receiving short replies: “Hmm, oh, okay, sure.”
He turned around speaking like he was casting a spell, while Shen, the award-winning actor, hadn’t said a word.
“Zhou Yili, you really talk too much.”
Shen Jixing lazily waved him off. “You’re not going tonight?”
Zhou Yili said, “I am.”
Manager: “...?”
Wait, since when did you say you were going?
That evening, Shen Jixing arrived at the Blue Eucalyptus live ceremony as promised.
He rarely attended events and had explicitly stated recently that the influx of invitations was overwhelming.
“I thought so, my phone hasn’t stopped ringing all day.”
Shen Jixing sat in the car, unusually neat and composed, cold and aloof.
“Normal, they’re all fighting over me.”
That statement wasn’t arrogant coming from him; Zhou Yili could hear a hint of pride.
“Yeah,” he chuckled softly, kissing the corner of his lips, “but you’re mine.”
Zhou Yili didn’t even know when he’d become so clingy.
Even at a ceremony, he insisted on accompanying him.
Until Shen Jixing was interviewed on the red carpet—
“Thank you all. I currently have no plans to sign with any company.”
The media’s reaction was as expected.
After parting amicably with his old agency, Shen Jixing would likely establish his own studio and team.
Then a heavily guarded reporter asked, “By the way, recent rumors online about you and a male fan have been spreading. Would you like to clear the air?”
The media glanced at the inexperienced new reporter, wondering if he really dared ask that.
Shen Jixing never answered such questions.
However, the voice sounded familiar—wasn’t that a very famous manager?
“Alright.”
Shen Jixing looked into the flashing cameras. “Let me clarify: it’s not a rumor.”
The media erupted in excitement.
That long-running unconfirmed rumor about buying a house was finally going to be confirmed.
Pei Ming hadn’t expected Shen Jixing to really play along. “Who? Who?!!!”
The sound of car tires hitting the ground came from nearby, and the media all turned toward it—
The gleaming black car door opened, and a man in a sharply tailored, dark starry suit stepped out.
The man’s long legs strode onto the red carpet, his black-blue hair flirtatiously tousled.
“It’s me?”
