Chapter 125: His Love for You Is Truly Profound
Outside the window, the silver moon was dim.
When Shen Jixing woke, his thoughts were muddled, and he had no idea where he was. Instinctively, he reached to the side.
His hand touched something icy cold.
“You’re awake,” came a voice from the wheelchair by the window, but the person did not turn around.
Shen Jixing struggled to sit up, still weighed down by weakness—the anesthesia was still lingering. “Where is this?”
At his words, Bo Yu let out a cold sneer.
“Our home.”
Shen Jixing glanced out the window—it was not the familiar villa. Bo Yu had moved him to another residence.
His gaze quickly scanned the room, searching for anything useful, and he asked casually, “Why not the old home?”
Hearing the word “home,” Bo Yu’s lips curved slightly.
Just as Shen Jixing opened a drawer, Bo Yu suddenly turned to look at him.
With a click, Shen Jixing switched on the bedside lamp. “It’s too dark.”
Bo Yu seemed provoked by the word “dark,” turning back to stare out at the night. “Dark? If it weren’t for your little boyfriend, we’d already be in Tuscany by now, where it’s the bright morning.”
Not trapped, forced to wait out the night in this shabby new home.
Hearing the name Zhou Yili, Shen Jixing’s eyelashes twitched slightly. “What happened to him?”
Bo Yu heard no emotion in his voice.
It was as if he were asking calmly, which made Bo Yu’s tone somewhat gentler.
“He’s mobilized every resource, manpower, and financial asset of the Zhou family to seal off Blue Eucalyptus. Neither flights nor cruises can leave without his watchful eye.”
Bo Yu sneered coldly. “He truly loves you deeply.”
He had almost exhausted all means to keep them there.
Shen Jixing raised a brow, glancing at the current time.
Three in the morning.
He didn’t know when Zhou Yili realized he was missing, but eight hours had passed since he picked Zhou Yili up from work.
Eight hours—no wonder that little lion must have been scared to death.
Shen Jixing could clearly feel his clinginess; at least, he couldn’t simply vanish when Zhou Yili’s feelings for him were at their strongest.
“Why don’t you use your own resources, manpower, and wealth?”
Shen Jixing looked at Bo Yu, asking calmly, “Don’t you love me deeply?”
—
Bo Yu was speechless.
His foundation was almost all overseas; his mercurial moods had made it increasingly difficult for him to survive domestically, otherwise he wouldn’t be so trapped and besieged.
Bo Yu wheeled himself over to stand before him.
Shen Jixing’s cold eyes finally shifted, wary and icy as they met his gaze. “What do you want to do?”
Bo Yu answered bluntly, “Do something to strengthen our bond.”
Shen Jixing was the only one he never provoked resistance from.
Bo Yu took off his gloves, and just as his pale, slender hand was about to touch him, a sudden slap landed on his face.
Smack!
Bo Yu turned his head, stunned.
“Axing!” he growled angrily.
Except for humiliations in youth, only Shen Jixing dared treat him this way.
Then Shen Jixing delivered a second slap.
Smack!
If it weren’t for his current weakness in his legs, he might have been kicked several meters away on the spot.
“Don’t force me to hate you,” Shen Jixing said.
The kindness of youth had been worn down bit by bit through heart-wrenching pain.
Shen Jixing would never forget the help Bo Yu had given him, so the best choice he could make was to keep no entanglements.
But Bo Yu never saw it that way.
“What right do you have to hate me?”
Bo Yu’s voice turned cold as he grabbed Shen Jixing’s wrist, forcibly pulling him close.
Face to face with the countenance he had painstakingly shaped as he grew up, Bo Yu said, “I don’t even despise you for what you once had with him…”
Shen Jixing lifted his eyes to meet his.
Those eyes were clear and beautiful, possessed of the utmost wisdom in the world and a stubborn perseverance.
Bo Yu almost softened with emotion.
But Shen Jixing slowly smiled.
“Once?”
“We sleep in the same bed every night—does that count as ‘once’?”
Shen Jixing was clearly smiling, yet his lowered hand pricked the palm almost to bleeding.
He was gambling—betting that Bo Yu wouldn’t touch him.
Bo Yu’s expression darkened as if struggling to suppress something, while simultaneously trying to feel something…
But he was still like a calm, stagnant pool.
—
“Do you think I don’t see it?” Bo Yu suddenly spoke, his amber eyes fixed intently on him.
“You’re the one I raised. Do you think I don’t know?”
“You’re scared.”
Shen Jixing’s eyelashes fluttered slightly.
Just as Bo Yu was about to make his next move, the door was knocked lightly, and a voice whispered urgently, “Sir, a convoy is approaching the villa.”
…
Shen Jixing instinctively looked toward the vast sky.
The dim silver moon cloaked the entire villa, then Bo Yu snapped his fingers.
In an instant, all the lights in the villa went out, perfectly hiding them in the darkness, as if it were still the abandoned, desolate place no one lived in.
“Axing, put away your naive fantasies,” Bo Yu said coldly.
“Do you think I wasn’t prepared?”
Why had he chosen this villa as their hiding place?
Because he was utterly fearless.
Beneath this villa’s lower floor lay an underground labyrinth Bo Yu had built with his own hands.
Shen Jixing was taken down to the basement.
“I know this place used to be your shadow. I’ll stay with you here until the darkness completely fades,” Bo Yu said.
Shen Jixing’s gaze fell into the darkness, and he sneered coldly, “A self-righteous sentimentality.”
Bo Yu’s thoughts were always unlike an ordinary person’s.
He would throw a frightened fledgling back into the darkness, waiting until it became numb and accustomed to the night.
That, in Bo Yu’s mind, was salvation.
“Sir, they’re inside!” a bodyguard rushed in urgently.
Bo Yu’s face darkened, and then he signaled his men with his eyes.
Immediately, a syringe filled with anesthetic was brought over.
Shen Jixing looked at him coldly. “What are you going to do?”
Bo Yu’s face seemed to dissolve into the night. “Nothing. Just making you obedient.”
—
It was hehehehehe.
