Chapter 95: Bo Yu's Condition Worsens
The villa under the long night stood quiet and magnificent. A tall, slender figure leaped onto a branch and gazed down at the group of trembling doctors in the courtyard. Tonight, Muse had returned for only one reason. Bo Yu was reaching his breaking point.
“What are the results?”
The doctors dared not look directly at this mysterious tycoon, their hands shaking as they flipped through data they had reviewed a hundred times.
Bo Yu’s patience was thin. “Speak.”
“No... no change.”
His health data showed no change. There was still no possibility for him to stand.
Bo Yu still looked like that elegant aristocrat, his icy amber eyes falling upon the row of white coats. “Didn’t you tell me a miracle would happen?”
His tone was refined and cultured, yet it seemed laced with a cold, poisonous blade.
The doctors bowed their heads before him, quivering.
“There are indeed cases similar to yours, but—”
Things medicine cannot explain are called miracles, but that is only a hopeful longing. No one clings to miracles.
But Bo Yu did.
“Tell me, why?”
A doctor spoke cautiously, “Mr. Bo, although there’s no change, it hasn’t... worsened, either...”
Alarm bells rang in the doctors’ hearts at that daring answer. In truth, they had detected a slight deterioration, but none dared to say so openly.
Bo Yu grabbed a nearby cane and struck it hard on a doctor’s shoulder.
He roared, “Tell me, why?!”
The doctor collapsed to his knees, face pale with fright. “I’m so sorry...”
Rumors about Bo Yu abounded; he had climbed to power over his own family, ruthless and unscrupulous.
“There’s no deterioration, truly no deterioration, ah—”
A scream of agony escaped the doctor as Bo Yu drove the cane into his shoulder, his gentle amber eyes darkening with a red hue.
He was having an attack.
The bodyguards lowered their heads, silent, none daring to rescue the doctor.
Until the villa’s alarm system shrieked.
The bodyguards all looked up, seeing a shadow leap from the wall, his gaze fixed on Bo Yu in his violent frenzy.
“Sir.”
Bo Yu’s sanity returned slightly; he raised his eyes, his voice hoarse to the extreme. “…Muse.”
Muse signaled them, and the doctors hurriedly carried their colleague away. Bo Yu did not stop them.
The cane fell to the ground. Bo Yu closed his eyes.
He had not waited for any miracle.
“Why have you returned?”
Muse was a bodyguard Bo Yu had personally trained; as long as he wished, no one in this world could catch him.
Muse slowly crouched before him. “I’m afraid you might do something you’ll regret.”
When Bo Yu had an attack, he lost control of his emotions; no one dared defy him. He had once regretted punishing Shen Jixing.
He had apologized, and protected him, but Shen Jixing still wanted to leave.
“Sir, may I leave you?”
The youth lay quietly on the hospital bed, asking.
Just those words eroded all of Bo Yu’s patience.
“A Xing, you’re dreaming.”
“You deliberately applied to Venus, just to leave me, didn’t you? You want to go abroad and be with that boy?”
Bo Yu stared at him coldly. “Don’t even think about it. I saved you; everything you have belongs to me.”
Shen Jixing’s wrist was wrapped in bandages. He gazed at Bo Yu for a long time, then finally dropped his eyes without a word.
He sank into profound helplessness.
Gratitude and freedom tore him apart, and even he did not know what to do.
At that time, he wondered: did he have the right to decide his own fate?
From the moment he was abandoned, was he destined to be a mayfly among the masses, doomed to be dominated and perish in the darkness?
…
“Sir, you seem never to have tried keeping someone by your side with love.”
Muse crouched before him, picking up the cane and placing it aside.
Bo Yu retorted, “What is love?”
He did not know what love was. He only knew that when the Bo family fell, everyone pushed him forward as the target of hatred, letting him be revenged upon and lose his legs.
But Bo Yu would not give up easily.
He had lain low for years, reborn from the ashes, and taken revenge on each person who had wronged him.
The doctors told him there would be a miracle. Bo Yu began philanthropy, helping struggling youths to new lives, watching them run passionately in the sunlight, while he himself would never stand again.
“Does anyone love me?” Bo Yu asked.
He did not understand love, for no one had ever loved him.
Muse watched him in silence for a while, just as Bo Yu was about to speak.
“I love him.” Bo Yu gazed at the sparse stars above. “But he avoids me like the plague.”
Muse lowered his gaze, his lashes trembling slightly.
“Sir, not all unrequited love bears fruit. Some love may not need a response.”
Bo Yu only smiled wryly.
Tonight’s outcome would leave him sleepless, as the miracle was snuffed out amidst decline.
“You don’t need to waste your efforts persuading me, whether for Shen Jixing or Zhou Yili.”
“I will not give up easily.”
“He can only belong to me.”
Muse stood there for a long time.
The night wind blew through his thin shirt, chilly; finally, he left the villa.
Muse found the doctor bandaging his wounds in the car. “What’s wrong with his body?”
Bo Yu was acting strange tonight.
The miracle he believed in seemed to collapse in an instant.
Until the doctor told Muse as tactfully as possible, “He… some functions are gradually failing.”
Muse was stunned for quite a while before he understood.
“He’s... impotent???”
The doctor hurriedly covered Muse’s mouth. “That’s too crude, take it back, take it back! If Mr. Bo hears you, you’re dead. Are you crazy?”
“…”
…
Shen Jixing still woke up late the next day.
While washing up, someone hugged him from behind. Zhou Yili, with a hangover, buried his face in Shen Jixing’s shoulder, inhaling the mint fragrance from his breath.
“Why are there so many red marks on you?”
Shen Jixing’s clothes were disheveled, only one button fastened at the center, his slender waist marked with traces, the six-pointed star on his side a disaster area.
Shen Jixing calmly rinsed his mouth. “No idea, they just appeared.”
Zhou Yili sensed his mood and chuckled quietly, pressing against him from behind.
Shen Jixing staggered, nearly falling against the mirror. “Zhou Yili!”
He had just washed his face; water droplets clung to his delicate profile, his features like fine porcelain, cool and beautiful.
Zhou Yili was completely captivated by this face upon opening his eyes.
“Did I bully you last night?”
Shen Jixing: “…”
When displeased, his sharp tongue came out instantly. “I bullied you last night.”
Zhou Yili’s warm fingers traced his waistline, feeling that little Xing was a bit pitiful; on comparison, he realized he’d pinched rather hard.
He truly wasn’t a decent person.
“How come I didn’t feel anything?”
Zhou Yili didn’t feel any change in himself; likely, nothing happened last night thanks to his drunkenness.
He remembered he was quite adorable when drunk.
Zhou Yili joked easily, “Are you not up to it, Teacher Shen?”
Shen Jixing’s ears turned crimson. “Get lost. I’m letting you off this time. We’re late.”
He pushed Zhou Yili away and calmly wiped the water from his face.
Last night, Zhou Yili had behaved, not really doing anything to him, but apart from that thing, he had tried everything else.
“Kiss me before you go.” Even half-awake, Zhou Yili didn’t forget to ask for a favor.
Shen Jixing let him lift his chin, but suddenly thought of something and turned away. “After you wash.”
He left the bathroom, leaving Zhou Yili alone, who realized after a moment and laughed endlessly.
“Oh, I get it~”
When Zhou Yili emerged from the bathroom, refreshed, the apartment was already devoid of his little white bird.
Quick flyer.
Zhou Yili grabbed his phone, intending to ask about breakfast.
Suddenly, a message appeared:
[BY]: Mr. Zhou, do you want to know why you ended up with a head full of blood?
