Chapter 164: Home
Outside, the wind whispered through the trees.
Fu Wenzhou kissed her eyelid, his touch infinitely gentle and tender. "You have a home, a home with me and Zhouzhou."
Song Qingyou froze abruptly, a sharp, aching soreness stinging the bridge of her nose.
Why was it that this man could always pinpoint the exact depths of her heart with such unerring accuracy?
She hadn't said a word, yet he knew what she truly wanted, what she was terrified of losing, and what she had longed for all this time.
That night, Song Qingyou curled up quietly in Fu Wenzhou’s arms and slept a deeply peaceful sleep.
When she woke up the next day, Song Qingyou felt an unprecedented lightness. The words Song Yuan had spoken yesterday now sank deep into her heart, unable to stir even the slightest ripple anymore.
Regardless of whether his words were true or false, Song Qingyou had no intention of searching for Song Ning or seeking out the truth.
If it was false, her revenge had already been exacted.
If it was true, then she hoped Song Ning could live a happy and joyful life after escaping.
Since Song Ning had chosen to leave, it meant she no longer wanted to have any ties to the Song family.
Why should she go and disturb that?
From now on, all she needed to do was tend well to the small home she shared with Fu Wenzhou.
At this thought, the corners of Song Qingyou’s lips curved into a faint, soft smile—barely noticeable and fleeting as a shadow.
Yet it was still caught by Fu Wenzhou, who had just pushed the door open. The man strode quickly inside, sticking close to her with rare affection. "Youyou, do you have to go to work today too?"
"Mmm." Song Qingyou pushed him away. "Move aside, I need to get dressed."
Fu Wenzhou raised a brow in dissatisfaction, bent down to lift Song Qingyou out from under the covers, and settled her on his lap to kiss her face-to-face.
It was the end of March, and after yesterday's heavy rain, the weather had turned chilly again.
However, the indoor heating was turned up high, and being held in his arms, Song Qingyou didn't feel cold at all.
Song Qingyou rubbed his slightly long wolf-tail hairstyle, stroking him just like a dog, and asked softly, "Who upset you?"
Fu Wenzhou looked at her intently. "I don't want you to go to work."
Hearing this, Song Qingyou smiled. "Once the Song Corporation is on the right track, help me hire a professional team as well."
Fu Wenzhou’s eyes lit up. "Really?"
Song Qingyou nodded. "Do you want me to swear an oath?"
"No." Fu Wenzhou hummed softly. "I want a kiss from my wife."
Song Qingyou was instantly left between laughter and tears. After a moment of thought, she said, "Alright."
Then, with a heavy blush of embarrassment, she added, "A kiss."
As soon as the words left her lips, the man’s kiss descended fiercely, carrying a fierce possessiveness as it plundered wantlessly through her mouth.
When the kiss finally ended, both of them were left breathless.
Song Qingyou’s lips were kissed red. She reached up to rub them, casting a reproachful glare at him. "What if my colleagues see this?"
Fu Wenzhou chuckled unabashedly. "Let them see. It’s even better if everyone knows you’re already taken."
Song Qingyou glared at him again, slipped down from Fu Wenzhou’s lap, and went to wash up.
Fu Wenzhou followed right behind her. His leg still had a slight limp, which was even more noticeable when he didn't use his cane.
Wherever Song Qingyou went, he followed. Zhouzhou wandered in from somewhere unknown, and soon, one man and one cat formed a procession, circling around Song Qingyou to the left and right all the way down to the living room on the ground floor.
Song Qingyou had to leave after finishing breakfast, but Fu Wenzhou kept tangling her up in kisses for a long while before finally letting her go.
After closing the door, Fu Wenzhou first washed the dishes and then tidied up the house. By now, the injuries on his body had mostly healed, and he could manage the wound on his leg by himself.
Just as he was halfway through applying medicine, Yun Nian arrived.
He had a backpack slung over his shoulders and was holding his master’s urn in his hands. He looked at Fu Wenzhou and asked, "Where is Sister Youyou?"
After much fierce persistence on his part, he had finally gotten the "Great Demon King" to agree to this title.
Fu Wenzhou couldn't even be bothered to lift his eyelids. "At work."
Yun Nian let out an "oh." "I’m here to say goodbye to you. I’m going to my master’s hometown to fulfill his dying wish and let fallen leaves return to their roots. Oh, by the way—"
He handed over a small box and placed it on the table beside Fu Wenzhou. "I'll probably be gone for a month. This is Sister Youyou's medicine for the next month. I'll be back when it runs out."
Fu Wenzhou frowned. "When are you leaving?"
"Right now," Yun Nian said nonchalantly.
Fu Wenzhou let out a lazy "Mmm." "I'll have someone go with you. He'll keep you safe."
"Who?" Yun Nian looked like a curious child. "It wouldn't happen to be Fu Bei, would it?"
Fu Wenzhou glanced at him. "Fu Kang. You'll call him Uncle Kang."
Yun Nian had no objections to this arrangement. "Fine."
He stared at Fu Wenzhou for a few seconds before suddenly asking, "Why do all the bodyguards in your family share your surname? Don't they have names of their own?"
The man's features possessed a natural coldness, yet right then, they were laced with a roguish mischief. "Curious?"
Yun Nian nodded frantically.
Fu Wenzhou beckoned to him, and Yun Nian scampered over like an eager puppy, tilting his right cheek toward Fu Wenzhou in a listening posture.
Fu Wenzhou leaned sideways against the dark-wood chair, the corners of his mouth curving slowly into a rakish smile as he reached out and patted Yun Nian's cheek. "I just won't tell you."
Yun Nian: "..."
Will someone please tell him why Fu Wenzhou was so infuriatingly punchable!
His cheeks puffed out in anger like a pufferfish, and he glared fiercely at Fu Wenzhou. "Hmph! I didn't want to know anyway!"
Fu Wenzhou rolled down his trouser cuffs, his eyelids drooping lazily, wearing an expression of leisurely indifference. He walked over to the huffing-and-puffing Yun Nian, grabbed him by the back of his collar, and hoisted him toward the door like a little chick.
"Fu Wenzhou! I'm going to report you to Sister Youyou for bullying me again!" Yun Nian flailed and struggled with tooth and nail.
Fu Wenzhou couldn't be bothered to entertain him. He checked the time and looked up just as a car pulled up.
A middle-aged man of about fifty stepped out from inside. The man was tall, with a three-centimeter scar across his brow bone and eyes as dark and unfathomable as a deep pool.
Yun Nian instinctively took two steps back. This uncle looked terrifying!
Fu Kang glanced sideways at Yun Nian, then looked at Fu Wenzhou and greeted him respectfully, "Young Master Fu."
"Mmm," Fu Wenzhou responded indifferently. He opened the car door, shoved Yun Nian inside, and locked the window right over Yun Nian's protests. "Stay put."
"How did the matter go?" Fu Wenzhou shed his lazy expression, his voice turning cold.
