“Huh?” Li Huan hadn’t even had time to be surprised before Su Dieyi let out a low cry. She lifted her head, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment, and her slightly parted lips made her look all the more adorable.

The restaurant manager was also taken aback by Su Dieyi’s reaction. These days, college students dating was so common, and cohabitation was hardly rare. Even a photo of two people kissing wouldn’t be a big deal to most, and even if someone objected, they wouldn’t react as she did. Besides, seeing Su Dieyi’s breathtaking beauty, the manager could hardly believe any young man would resist the urge to entice her into bed.

“I think you’re mistaken. We’re not a couple,” Li Huan said awkwardly, shaking his head. As he expected, Su Dieyi was just too sensitive—she always overreacted to anything remotely suggestive.

“Oh, I see. My apologies. You ordered the couples’ set meal, so I assumed…” The restaurant manager’s face turned bright red, but she quickly regained her composure. “Would you still like the set, or shall I change your order?”

Li Huan glanced at Su Dieyi. The girl was no longer able to think about what to eat, her small fists clenched, as if in an invisible battle with herself.

“Is it all right? If not, we can order something else,” Li Huan asked.

“There’s no restriction, so please wait a moment,” the manager replied with a warm smile before turning to leave. She had come to introduce the couples’ set personally, charmed by Su Dieyi’s stunning looks, never expecting such a misunderstanding.

The main course was steak and pineapple fried rice, accompanied by exquisite desserts and two glasses of coconut juice. The portions were generous for the girl, while the boy’s serving was only slightly larger, but still not enough to fill him. Clearly, the restaurant designed it so couples would feed each other, adding a layer of intimacy.

Of course, Li Huan would not be on the receiving end of such affection, but Su Dieyi thoughtfully shared a portion of her meal with him, keeping enough for herself so that both could eat their fill.

Dining at a Western restaurant was truly a delight—quiet, with soothing music that created a relaxed atmosphere. For young couples, it was the perfect romantic setting.

Unfortunately, this world is never short of flies to spoil a good meal. They had barely begun eating when four men barged in—yes, barged in!

Li Huan had chosen a table near the glass door. The four men, dressed in a distinctive, unconventional style—tank tops, jeans, long chains around their necks, and bizarre hairstyles—clearly weren’t local college students.

All appeared to be around twenty-four or twenty-five. They swaggered in and headed straight for Li Huan and Su Dieyi’s table, eyes gleaming as they looked at Su Dieyi.

“Su Dieyi, did you really think you could hide forever?” said the man with long, dyed-blond hair. He was quite handsome, reminiscent of a Korean pop star.

Li Huan was chewing a piece of steak and looked up, puzzled. He couldn’t imagine Su Dieyi associating with people like this; how did they know her?

“I don’t need to hide from anyone, and I don’t know you. Please leave,” Su Dieyi replied with a frown, clearly displeased at having her meal interrupted.

“Oh? Playing hard to get now? Don’t think you’re so special just because you’re pretty. I’ve had plenty of college girls, and they all ended up in my bed. What’s the point in playing coy with me?” The long-haired man sneered, but his eyes were full of greedy desire as he looked at Su Dieyi.

“Watch your mouth!” Li Huan’s brow furrowed. Clearly, they’d run into a gang of small-time hoodlums—men who used their minor power to prey on female students. If it was consensual, that was one thing, but if not, they’d go to outrageous lengths, which was utterly despicable.

“Who the hell are you? Shut your mouth, or I’ll kill you!” the long-haired man spat, his arrogance boundless—no one on his turf had ever dared stand up to him like this.

Li Huan almost jumped up to slap him. Compared to Brother Gou, this guy was even more insufferable—where did he get such nerve?

“Let’s go. We’ll eat somewhere else,” Su Dieyi said coldly, not even deigning to look at the man. She stood up to leave.

Li Huan rose as well, ready to pay the bill, but the long-haired man had no intention of letting them go. Having caught Su Dieyi here, he wasn’t going to leave empty-handed.

“Leave? Not until you agree to spend the night with me!” He reached out to grab Su Dieyi’s arm, grinning lecherously.

Li Huan’s eyelid twitched, his gaze sharpening. He moved to push the long-haired man away, but before he could act, Su Dieyi suddenly lifted her leg and kicked the man sharply on the shin, then leapt nimbly out of her seat.

The scene left Li Huan momentarily stunned. He suddenly remembered that Su Dieyi had once told him she was a third-degree black belt in Taekwondo—clearly, she wasn’t exaggerating!

The long-haired man howled in pain, and his three companions cursed as they lunged at Su Dieyi.

But instead of fear, Su Dieyi now wore a cold smile, adopting a fighting stance, ready to take them on. Li Huan finally snapped out of his shock. While he knew she had some martial arts skills, being a female black belt was more show than substance—against three grown men, she might not stand much chance.

Thinking this, Li Huan didn’t hesitate. He jumped in front of Su Dieyi, facing the three men. As they rushed at him, he swung his hand and slapped the lead attacker, sending him sprawling with a wail.

“Stop!” Only now did the restaurant manager arrive, but the incident had escalated so quickly that she was too late to intervene.

Li Huan glanced back and offered her an apologetic smile but didn’t stop. Ducking low, he lunged at the man on the right, punching him hard in the stomach and sending him crashing to the floor. The last man, sensing something was wrong, tried to stop, but Li Huan wasn’t about to let him go. He turned and drove his elbow into the man’s chest, flinging him across the restaurant.

The other diners stared in shock, jaws agape. The sound of forks clattering onto plates rang out as everyone stared in disbelief—this was better than an action movie!

Both the restaurant manager and Su Dieyi looked at Li Huan in astonishment, their expressions rich with surprise. Su Dieyi, especially, had always known Li Huan was a member of the school’s martial arts club, but she had never seen him actually fight—she never imagined he would be this formidable, like a character straight out of a martial arts film.

Li Huan glanced at the manager, took out his phone, and said, “Call the police. These thugs are no good.”

Before he could dial, the manager hurried over and stopped him. “Let’s just forget it. Nothing was lost, and a little tidy-up will fix things.”

Li Huan frowned, hesitated, then put his phone away. He understood her concerns—these thugs were likely part of a larger group, and offending them might mean the end of her restaurant.

After a while, the four men managed to get back on their feet. The long-haired man’s shin was still sore, but it was the other three—those Li Huan had beaten—who were worse off. He hadn’t held back; they’d be feeling it for some time.

“Su Dieyi, just you wait. One day I’ll have you in my bed… And you, Li Huan, right? I’ll let it go today, but you’d better watch your back!” the long-haired man threatened, glaring at Li Huan before leading his battered lackeys out.

“How did he know my name?” Li Huan wondered aloud once they were gone, surprised the man had called him by name.

Su Dieyi looked equally puzzled. She could understand them knowing her, since they had harassed her before, but this was the first time they’d met Li Huan—how could they possibly know his name?

After such an incident, neither of them felt like eating anymore. They spoke to the manager, who insisted on waiving the charges and wouldn’t even let them pay for their meal. Unable to refuse, Li Huan left the restaurant with Su Dieyi.

When they reached the school gates, they grabbed a simple meal at a nearby spot before returning to campus. Li Huan stayed close, worried the men might come back to harass Su Dieyi.

Meanwhile, at an intersection outside the school, the long-haired man and his three companions were gathered by a BMW, glaring furiously at the driver. “Sun Xiao, are you screwing with me on purpose?” he demanded.

Sun Xiao rolled down the window, resting his arm on the frame and taking a drag of his cigarette. “I warned you—this guy isn’t ordinary. You were just careless.”

“What’s that supposed to mean? We stuck our necks out for you and got beat up—are we just supposed to let it go?” the long-haired man sneered, trembling with rage.

Sun Xiao merely laughed coldly, unafraid of these small-time punks. “Zhang Hao, get this straight. Don’t blame me—blame Li Huan. Instead of arguing with me, you’d better figure out how to cripple that guy. Do that, and I’ll put a hundred thousand yuan directly into your account.”

At Sun Xiao’s words, Zhang Hao’s eyes lit up. A hundred thousand for a broken leg—that was a lucrative deal. For that kind of money, he certainly wouldn’t turn on Sun Xiao. Still, getting trounced today left a bitter taste in his mouth.

Sun Xiao raised his eyebrows, fished two thousand yuan from his wallet, and handed it to Zhang Hao. “This should be enough for the four of you to have a good night. Remember—deal with Li Huan quickly and don’t leave any evidence. Otherwise, don’t blame me for turning on you.”

With that, Sun Xiao started his car, and with a roar, the BMW sped away, leaving the four men counting their cash by the roadside.

Zhang Hao handed five hundred to each of his buddies, then lifted his head, spat in the direction Sun Xiao had gone, and cursed, “Damn you. Who do you think you are, flashing your cash? Push me too far, and I’ll cripple you, too!”
