Kengan Godzilla What are you doing? 2811 words 2026-03-24 00:21:31

Standing a hundred meters tall, Godzilla loomed monstrous and terrifying, its mere movement capable of inflicting immeasurable destruction upon human cities.

Buildings collapsed in endless cascades, the dust and smoke rising to shroud Godzilla’s massive, bloated lower body.

It was as if hellfire itself was rising from beneath the creature’s feet.

“It’s... a demon lord risen straight from the depths of hell!” a minister muttered with difficulty, eyes fixed on the screen.

The Defense Minister seated beside the Prime Minister silently nodded in agreement.

After receiving a report from a nearby Self-Defense Force officer, he leaned toward the Prime Minister.

“The troops are in position, please give the order.”

The Prime Minister rubbed his hands together, his expression grave. In a deep voice, he said, “Permission granted for the use of weapons!”

The command was relayed down the chain until it reached the pilots of the armed helicopters.

“Whir—”

The machine guns spun up, heating rapidly. Moments later, thousands of glowing orange-red bullets streaked out from thirty helicopters arrayed in formation.

Before this day, bullets as thick as an adult’s finger would likely reduce any human flesh to a spray of blood upon impact.

Yet today, these bullets—the pinnacle of human technology and industry—struck Godzilla’s rock-like hide with only feeble sparks, utterly ineffective.

“Switch to 30 millimeters! Fire another volley!” the on-site commander ordered decisively.

He sought to test the limits of Godzilla’s endurance.

But after a thunderous barrage, the 30-millimeter rounds yielded no different result.

Inside the operations room, the Prime Minister and cabinet members were dumbfounded. What on earth was this creature’s body made of? Not even bullets could breach it!

Though the Imperial Organization’s dossiers had included this information, those who had not seen it firsthand lacked a true sense of what it meant to take direct hits from heavy machine guns and emerge unscathed.

“The commander requests missile authorization,” the Self-Defense Force officer consulted the Defense Minister.

The Defense Minister, adhering strictly to protocol, turned to ask the Prime Minister.

“Although this is a densely populated area, there’s no other choice. Prime Minister, please give the order!”

“From this moment on, unrestricted use of weapons...” The Prime Minister’s heart was pounding with panic, but he maintained a calm, authoritative facade, eyes fixed on the large screen. He uttered, “Granted!”

The frontline troops immediately rallied with renewed vigor.

Artillery, tanks, and missiles unleashed a relentless assault on Godzilla’s upper body.

Despite its immense size and slow pace, Godzilla was like a living target, absorbing every attack.

Yet whether missiles from helicopters, shells from Type 10 tanks, or rockets from the M270 227mm twelve-barrel launchers, none inflicted damage or even slowed its advance.

Even a person would instinctively stop to swat a mosquito.

But to Godzilla, these munitions—enough to wage a small war—were less harmful than a mosquito’s bite.

In the end, even the devastating Jerome bomb dropped from above merely caused the beast to pause momentarily before continuing forward as if nothing had happened.

“...”

The operations room fell into a suffocating silence.

The Jerome bomb was among the Self-Defense Force’s most potent weapons. If it could not slow Godzilla, no other weapon stood a chance.

“For now, our only option is to request intervention from the United States forces... I will hold the press conference,” the Chief Cabinet Secretary said shakily.

Hearing that he would not need to face the public’s ire, Prime Minister Okouchi nodded hastily.

An hour later, the silver-haired Chief Cabinet Secretary stepped to the podium, addressing the nation watching the battle unfold.

“We have requested assistance from the United States forces stationed here. Under the bilateral security agreement, they have commenced bombing strikes against Godzilla...”

The announcement sparked uproar throughout Japan.

Regardless of public opinion, bombing zone alerts were sent to every mobile device capable of receiving them.

“This is worse than Godzilla itself!” the Governor of Tokyo exclaimed in disbelief, staring at the map on his phone, dense with bombing zones.

He quickly ordered the evacuation of all civilians who had yet to find shelter into underground spaces—subways, parking garages—anything available.

Not only the public but the entire Japanese Cabinet prepared for emergency evacuation from Tokyo.

The Prime Minister and senior officials boarded helicopters, while others moved overland to new offices.

Night had fallen. Amidst the screams and frantic flight of countless people, Godzilla pressed into the Tokyo metropolitan area.

Within the fragile barrier of skyscrapers, multi-billion-dollar B-2 bombers pierced Godzilla’s dorsal fins with laser-guided Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) bombs.

Flames as large as half of Godzilla’s body erupted, scattering glowing flesh and fin fragments.

On a human scale, it was a waterfall of blood.

Wounded, Godzilla roared and lowered its head.

Then it began to glow.

The furious energy within its biological reactor boiled. The blazing orange-red dorsal fin shifted rapidly under the high-density energy’s influence, its spectrum fading into purple.

Finally, it emitted a white-glowing violet light.

The entire Tokyo sky was bathed in this unsettling purple glow.

Those sheltering at the Katagami residence saw the phenomenon on television and rushed outside.

They climbed the surrounding hills, gazing toward Tokyo.

“This power...”

Kagami Shirato watched the pale night sky, his eyes reflecting not only the human fears and worries shared by his companion Saeko but also a burning ambition like fire.

Rando Shikko, preparing to descend into underground shelters, glimpsed the light and scowled with frustration.

Born into a political family and entering politics with hopes of nation-building, he now saw his homeland ravaged by this beast, while its human masters cowered underground, praying for peace.

An overwhelming sense of restraint and fury churned within him.

Yet he understood that compared to this creature, fragile humanity was far from defeating it.

There was much preparation still to be done.

The lowered monster opened its triple-lobed mouth, exhaling thick, murky radioactive smoke.

—Ultra-high-temperature radioactive particle-laden smoke!

The smoke flooded every street beneath like a mudslide.

The temperature rose, rising...

Until the radioactive smoke ignited violently!

The thick jet of smoke became a pillar of fire, compressed by its energy organ into an ever-narrowing beam...

—A radiation beam!

The scorching violet energy ray, glowing white-hot, vibrated the air with a sharp roar.

Godzilla lifted its head, the glowing beam cleaving through the night sky as if to rend the darkness itself.

“Bang!”

The multi-billion-dollar high-tech bombers exploded like fireworks, cut through like butter by the heat, shattering in the night sky.

On the rooftop helipad of the Cabinet building,

the Prime Minister, preparing to evacuate, gazed at the fiery glow that stained the sky red. He then glanced at the tablet showing the inferno—a hellish vision as if a demon had descended.

He sighed mournfully, made no pause, and walked toward the helicopter.

But just as the entire Cabinet boarded and the helicopter began to lift off...

A sweeping radiation beam streaked across it!

Japan’s Cabinet was wiped out in an instant.
