Chapter 117: Phantom Clash · Consecutive Strikes! (Please Subscribe!)
These derivatives, entities separated from the tip of Tokyo Godzilla’s tail, possess a material composition akin to that of the giant beast itself. Though incomparable in scale, their bodies are forged with such resilience that conventional attacks scarcely dent them. Even after being struck by the freshly condensed supersonic shockwave, they remained unscathed, continuing their assault unabated.
As the five derivatives began to glow with a violet luminescence in their chests, preparing to unleash radiative beams at the original Godzilla’s neck, Hakudou Kyou surged forward, delivering a silent punch at supersonic speed. Striking the cervical vertebra of one derivative from behind, his overwhelming fist nearly bent the creature’s skeletal neck into a “V” shape.
The other four derivatives reacted only then, turning their eyeless heads toward the source of the attack. Surprised beyond expectation, their chest glows dimmed. At that very moment, a delayed roar erupted alongside the surging shockwave.
“Boom!”
Even amidst the deafening battlefield dominated by two Godzillas, the roar and shockwave from the original’s shoulder could not be suppressed. The derivatives that had not directly faced the supersonic punch, their spiked bodies scraping against their tough hides, sparked with fiery trails. Since the original Godzilla’s shoulder offered a larger platform than its face, they halted their movement this time, preventing themselves from falling.
Hakudou Kyou, with his punch having forced one derivative’s head nearly against its back, showed no signs of immediate success. Instead, his brow furrowed as he leapt backward. The instant he moved, a spiked tail whipped past his ear, slicing through the air.
The crackling sound of the tail’s lash was grating to the teeth. Hakudou’s expression was solemn; his fists, hanging by his sides, opened and closed incessantly.
“They haven’t just enhanced their energy attacks; even their joints have been optimized!”
The derivative whose head had been nearly pressed against its back now audibly cracked its neck, forcibly bending it back into place. It was almost unimaginable: an hour ago, their joints could be broken by a strong human, yet now they effortlessly withstood a supersonic blow.
Hakudou glanced toward the original Godzilla’s vacant-eyed adversaries. “This rate of evolution… every battle is like giving them a brutal push forward.” The situation was absurdly exaggerated. A swift victory was imperative; otherwise, no one knew what these creatures might ultimately become.
The derivatives, regardless of Hakudou’s thoughts, seemed to have reached a consensus: unless this meddlesome youngster was eliminated, their destruction would remain incomplete. Like demons, they now charged toward the burly youth.
Three of the derivatives climbed over the shaking shoulder, while the other two fixed themselves in place, their chests flickering with a pale violet glow, seemingly acting as artillery.
“Zzz—” *2
Two slender radiative beams crisscrossed where Hakudou had stood moments before. The air around the beams visibly warped from the intense heat.
Hakudou, compact and agile, dodged the miniature radiative beams with ease. Unlike these derivatives, which needed to anchor themselves to the giant beast to move, Hakudou, endowed with dragon’s blood internal power and martial arts mastery, moved as effortlessly on the rampaging behemoth as on solid ground.
With his movement speed overwhelming his foes, how could he miss the chance to pick them off one by one?
“Fire Heaven Style: Blazing Flame!”
The sturdy figure instantly lunged at a climbing derivative. The derivative, struggling to maintain its grip on the giant beast, was caught completely off guard.
“Diamond Form: Indestructible!”
Having bathed in dragon’s blood, Hakudou’s supersonic punch was a technique he had first attempted today, yet after just two strikes, he had already adapted its power to various applications.
With the hardened soles of his feet, refined by the Two Tiger Style, he channeled supersonic force into a brutal stomp upon the derivative’s back of the neck.
“Bang!”
The violent impact imprinted the skeletal derivative onto the giant beast’s hide. Even the original Godzilla’s tough skin briefly dented under the crushing force.
The original Godzilla, having just taken a swipe from the opponent, snorted in displeasure as the explosive sound on its shoulder resonated.
“Huff!”
“Bear with it! I’m helping you!” Hakudou replied without even looking back.
The original Godzilla spun sharply, its roaring tail lashing across the enemy’s face. Meanwhile, Hakudou pressed down with his foot, unwilling to relent.
The tactile resistance underfoot told him this creature was far from dead.
A bold grin spread across the burly youth’s face. Battles became truly thrilling only when they turned challenging.
“Two Tiger Style Secret Technique: Demon’s Rampage!”
This technique of leveraging force was not to deflect the enemy’s attack but to harness its recoil for his own strike.
The exquisite martial method channeled the surging kinetic energy through his body, circulating it fluidly.
The recoil from the supersonic stomp, refined by the secret technique, was compounded, amplifying the force of the second supersonic stomp.
“Bang!”
The temporary dent on the giant beast’s skin was now more than twice as large as before.
Among the three derivatives prepared for close combat, one poorly anchored was sent flying by the explosive shockwave.
“Legend of the Immortal Tree”
It tumbled off Godzilla’s body.
Beneath Hakudou’s foot, the crushing sensation of breaking something hard was palpable. Yet the skeletal derivative continued writhing, indicating that such punishment was far from sufficient.
Just as Hakudou prepared to unleash the second compounded force, the purple glow in his pupils contracted slightly, a tingling electric sensation buzzing down his spine.
Without hesitation, he ceased the technique’s execution and sidestepped to avoid danger.
“Zzz—” *2
Two tiny radiative beams grazed his clothes, firing harmlessly into the air.
The surrounding atmosphere twisted grotesquely under the immense heat.
Behind, the two derivatives serving as artillery emitted wisps of smoke as their violet chest glows gradually dimmed.
The derivative nearly stamped into the giant beast’s hide took this opportunity to struggle upright. Visible fractures on its chest began to mend amidst the warped, heated air.
The sickening crackling of its skeletal frame realigning was enough to unsettle anyone’s nerves.
In no time, it had fully restored to its original form.
Now, the battlefield had shifted to four against one: two in close quarters and two artillery units.
Hakudou did not shy away from a war of attrition.
The derivatives’ energy was drawn directly from the original Tokyo Godzilla’s core.
These half-ton skeletal frames had to divide their energy between movement and energy attacks.
Against human forces that could be wiped out instantly, their reserves were barely sufficient.
But now, before Hakudou, their reserves were far from abundant.
Though Hakudou’s energy organs were not yet fully developed, the heat radiating from Godzillas battling each other was more than enough to sustain his dragon blood internal power without worry.
“Wait… ‘heat’?”
Observing the air warped around the derivatives, the burly youth seemed to realize something.
A smirk tugged at his lips as he arched his brow.
