Kengan Godzilla What are you doing? 2497 words 2026-03-24 00:22:07

The tedious and lengthy conversations inside the cabinet meeting room were utterly insignificant to the monster-ravaged Tokyo at this moment.

Civilized society, which had just weathered a disaster, was dragged back into a primal abyss in an instant.

The right to survival was no longer dictated by ideologies, inclinations, identities, or social statuses conceived by humanity.

Right now, it boiled down to a single factor—who was stronger!

The truth of "the strong live, the weak die" was once again being starkly re-enacted upon the world.

Kanoh Agoh sported a slicked-back pomade hairstyle, his entire body bulging with muscles that surged with a sense of raw power like rolling mountain ranges.

Having sprinted here at breakneck speed, he threw a single punch that blasted away the monster tearing into Akoya Seishu.

Shielding the fallen Akoya Seishu behind him, he settled into his stance, his shifting eyes maintaining vigilant guard against every single monster.

Buildings that had miraculously survived the disaster of Godzilla coming ashore were now being dismantled by the monsters like children's building blocks.

Amidst the chaotic debris of shattered stone and twisted rebar, human flesh and blood were mixed indiscriminately with mud.

Judging solely by what met the eye, the blood and flesh of at least a hundred people stained the ground.

"Akoya, you've grown weak."

The voice of the Fang of Metsudo remained as steadily merciless as ever.

Of course Akoya Seishu had not grown weak. Capable of freely partial transformation, he could have snapped his own previous neck in less than half a second.

Yet, compared to others who were fellow Kengan Association gladiators, failing to keep pace with the era's escalation already constituted "weakness."

Lying contorted on the ground, bone splinters and raw flesh already beginning to sprout from his severed limbs, Akoya Seishu turned a deaf ear.

He merely stared at the distant monsters with a frenzied, demonic gaze, incessantly muttering to himself, "Justice! Execute! Justice!..."

Kanoh Agoh frowned.

He roughly understood why Akoya Seishu failed to reach "beyond beastification."

With a mental state like that, merely emerging sane from the shock of bestial impulses was already difficult enough. How could he possibly dare to willingly submerge himself once more into a wild consciousness to seek a higher realm?

Just as the monsters circled Kanoh Agoh and Akoya Seishu like a pack of wolves, a figure with long hair tied in a single ponytail suddenly appeared, strolling as leisurely as if taking a stroll in the park.

So naturally did he arrive that he triggered no reaction whatsoever from the monsters, stepping right up behind them.

Upon that weathered, middle-aged face, a mocking, carefree smile lingered despite the horrific scene surrounding them.

It was as if he were merely a stone by the roadside, a blade of grass, a floating cloud.

Unlike other enhanced individuals who leaned heavily toward striking arts after experiencing exponential bodily growth, Hatsumi Sen simply rested his palm gently against a monster's spine.

"Roar!"

The monster, which had been glaring fixedly at Kanoh Agoh, had not the slightest inkling of when a living being had materialized behind it.

It instinctively prepared to leap away like a startled feline.

Yet it was precisely this abrupt tensing of the body—this "startled cat" reaction—that allowed the internal force generated within its frame to be completely redirected by the palm resting upon its back!

"Crack—"

One hand anchored the monster's skull while the other applied eccentric leverage.

Amidst the crisp snap of bone, the ferocious body twitched and then went completely limp.

The absurdity exuded by that contorted form was akin to someone stretching lazily and inadvertently dislocating every single vertebra in their spine one by one!

The remaining six monsters only reacted after hearing the commotion.

Immediately, four of them split off and lunged straight toward Hatsumi Sen!

青-black, ferocious figures tore through the atmosphere, leaving behind sonic booms and shockwaves.

"Oh my? I'm merely a gentle soul who practices aikido for self-defense! Why is everyone coming after me?"

Faced with the pounce of four monsters, the bearded Hatsumi Sen calmly rattled off infuriatingly casual banter.

His physique tilted by the most infinitesimal degree, allowing the monsters to brush past his body by a hair's breadth.

Because the movement was so blindingly fast, it created the illusion that the monsters were passing straight through his physical body.

Aikido was indeed an exceptional art of self-protection, even when facing multiple opponents of equivalent physical prowess.

To this day, not a single trace of disarray could be found on Hatsumi Sen.

Yet the shortcoming was equally glaring.

Aikido, which specialized in wreaking havoc upon joints and human anatomy, could fracture the resilient limbs of each monster by harnessing their own momentum as they rushed past him.

However, against Titan experiment failures capable of forcefully regenerating such minor injuries in the blink of an eye, his offensive output lacked a definitive, game-ending blow unless he relied on a surprise attack.

The stalemate seemed set.

The monsters could not lay a finger on Hatsumi Sen, while Hatsumi Sen lacked a one-hit-kill technique.

Meanwhile, Kanoh Agoh was tasked with guarding the temporarily crippled Akoya Seishu.

Before long, however, Hatsumi Sen—surrounded entirely by the afterimages of the charging monsters—sensed a shift in the air.

"Oh? Things are starting to heat up."

The corners of his mouth curved upward slightly, his demeanor relaxing even further.

For he knew that someone better suited to handling this exact scenario had arrived.

[Niko Style • Flashing Steel • Consecutive Strikes]!

Accompanied by air distorted by abnormal heat and four belated impacts:

"Bang!" x4

Like an ignited trail of fire streaking down from the distant ruins, a figure arrived before Hatsumi Sen in the blink of an eye, turning his back to him.

The speed was so astonishing that it easily tore open a vapor cone. The swift and agile form suggested not only that his physical enhancement level matched the monsters at the stage of "beyond beastification,"

but that his very body weight was vastly lighter than the enhanced subjects from the research facility.

The four green-black bestial shadows were violently blasted away in all directions.

Flesh tougher than steel was blown apart directly across various parts of their bodies, sending sprays of blood bursting into the air!

"Sorry, I'm late." The man with messy black seaweed-like hair materialized amidst the fierce wind, offering an utterly insincere apology to Hatsumi Sen. "You have to take into account the collateral damage caused by moving at full speed, you know."

"You could have just traveled across the rooftops and then dove straight down from a calculated vantage point, couldn't you? Especially with you possessing the power and eyes of 'Rodan', Ohma."

Hatsumi Sen's eye twitched.

This brat wasn't even putting effort into his excuses.

Tokita Ohma rolled his shoulders, gazing at the monsters that were once again regenerating their flesh and closing in around them.

Standing behind him, Hatsumi Sen could clearly see that embedded in the back of Ohma's neck was a palm-sized patch of brownish-red skin.

Its color and texture definitively did not originate from Godzilla.

And right now, that patch of skin was glowing fiercely red, radiating blistering heat!

At that moment, Ohma turned his head sideways to look at Hatsumi.

"Ah, you saw right through it. But please understand, after all..."

Amidst the distortion of air under a scorching temperature of at least sixty degrees Celsius, that handsome face broke into a terrifying, demon-like grin.

"After undergoing this enhancement, running into opponents I can fight without holding back... I'm getting a little excited!"
