Chapter 114: A Name Resounding Like Thunder
Ni Feihong limped to the door and managed to squeeze out a smile. "Tianjue, you’re here?"
Qiu Tianjue smiled calmly. "Why did it take you so long to open the door?"
Ni Feihong felt incredibly awkward. Lying always felt strange, but she braced herself and gestured toward her foot. "It’s inconvenient; I sprained it today."
"Then don't stand there. Let me help you inside." Qiu Tianjue stepped in without trouble.
After exchanging a few casual words and setting down the birthday gift he had brought for her, Qiu Tianjue looked lost in thought, his expression peculiar. A moment later, he stood up and deliberately started walking toward the stairs.
Ni Feihong was so startled she nearly jumped up. She hurriedly said, "Hey, what are you doing? Don't go up there."
Qiu Tianjue turned to look at her. "What’s wrong with you? Why are you so nervous? I just thought you weren't doing well, and I wanted to go up, get you some clothes, and take you to the hospital."
"No, no, that's not necessary." Ni Feihong shook her head vigorously, her face flushing slightly. "It’s a small matter. It will be better in two weeks. Even at the hospital, they mostly just tell you to rest for sprains and strains; there isn't much treatment anyway. Besides, I’m not working right now."
Qiu Tianjue continued, "If you don't want to go to the hospital, that’s fine, but I should still get you those clothes. Look, you’re still in your workout gear, and the weather is starting to turn cool."
"No, no." Ni Feihong kept shaking her head violently. "What cooling? I actually feel hot; I even want to take a layer off."
Qiu Tianjue looked stunned. "What on earth are you talking about? If you take off any more, won't you be left with nothing?"
"Yeah, the color is really wrong," Ni Feihong muttered, distracted and barely hearing him. Her scalp tingled as she worried about that brat upstairs.
"You’re very strange today. Is there something you’re hiding from me?" Qiu Tianjue asked.
"Nope." Ni Feihong acted a bit jittery. "It’s getting late. I don't entertain men here after dark. I’m a bit tired and need to rest. Let’s talk another time. By the way, thank you for the gift. I told you not to bother, but you insisted."
Hearing this, a flash of gloom crossed Qiu Tianjue’s eyes, but he didn't press the issue. He offered a slight smile. "Fine. Since that’s your rule, I won't ask you to make an exception. I’ll come to see you another day. Take care of yourself."
Ni Feihong couldn't help but feel guilty, thinking she shouldn't have deceived him, but the reality was just that awkward. With a flushed face, she limped along as she saw him out.
Night fell.
Seeing that Xiao Ma hadn't come down on his own, Ni Feihong called out, but received no response. She wanted to call him, only to realize her phone was still in the locker at the fitness club. Feeling annoyed and wondering what that kid was up to, she waited a while longer. By nine o'clock, he still hadn't appeared, and he still wouldn't answer her calls. Finally, unable to hold back any longer, she practically crawled upstairs. After checking a few rooms, she eventually found him in her closet, sprawled out on a pile of her lingerie, fast asleep and drooling.
Ni Feihong nearly had a breakdown; she felt like giving him a swift kick.
"Xiao Ma, you're dead meat!" she shrieked into his ear.
The dreaming Xiao Ma jumped up in terror. Once he realized where he was, he looked incredibly embarrassed.
Ni Feihong said with a strange expression, "Don't say a word. I won't make you pay for any of this, just leave quickly. It’s already dark."
"Are you really sure you don't need me to help you?" Xiao Ma asked.
Ni Feihong nodded slightly without speaking. Xiao Ma, feeling utterly speechless himself, didn't dare stay any longer.
After Ma Weimin left, Qiu Tianjue, watching from a window through binoculars, saw him depart. He checked his watch—the loser had actually been inside for over two and a half hours. His expression darkened even further.
Later that evening, Qiu Tianjue’s assistant entered. "Mr. Qiu, I looked into the person you asked about. The kid seems to be causing trouble everywhere. He even earned the title of one of the 'Two Dragons of Haidong' among a group of elementary schoolers, claiming to be on par with Chen Haodong."
"The 'Two Dragons of Haidong'? What kind of nonsense is that? And who is Chen Haodong?" Qiu Tianjue couldn't help but find it amusing.
The assistant replied awkwardly, "Chen Hong, whom you’ve 'used' a few times—she’s Chen Haodong’s ex-girlfriend. Don't you remember?"
"Oh, so he's just one of those low-level thugs," Qiu Tianjue nodded dismissively. "Go on."
The assistant added, "He is also Yu Chengmin’s assistant. It seems he might be part of her inner circle?"
Qiu Tianjue frowned. "Yu Chengmin from Tianhong International?"
"That’s her," the assistant nodded.
Qiu Tianjue pondered for a long time before saying, "No wonder the kid is so arrogant, running around causing chaos."
"He dares to touch a woman you want. Should I teach him a lesson?" the assistant immediately asked.
Qiu Tianjue shook his head slightly. "Not yet. I’m not sure what his relationship with Yu Chengmin is. Yu Chengmin and Ni Feihong have a significant conflict, and I don't know if this kid is targeting Ni Feihong to help Yu Chengmin or if he’s acting on his own."
"Then what should we do?" the assistant asked.
Qiu Tianjue said, "Do you know where he lives?"
The assistant replied with a strange expression, "Right on Peak Road. It’s not his house; he’s living in a property under Feng Chenchen’s name. This kid really seems to have a way with women."
"Fine. I’ll go meet him and have a chat." Qiu Tianjue stood up and headed out.
Han Siyi had practically become Young Master Xiao Ma’s IT support.
This time, Xiao Ma brought over a laptop that had been stepped on by high heels. He handed it over and said, "This computer was hacked today. See if you can recover the data or trace the source of the hack."
Actually, the computer wasn't broken; it could still turn on, though the casing was deformed and the screen was cracked.
Han Siyi loved doing things that would please him, so she took it decisively, promising to handle it as soon as she finished the system upgrade on the other computer.
Xiao Ma glanced at the two laptops—one belonging to Ni Feihong and one to Yu Chengmin. After a moment of hesitation, he pointed to Ni Feihong’s Razer. "Prioritize this one. The other one can wait."
"OK."
Chewing gum, Han Siyi immediately opened the laptop. She took a curious look at the photos and videos on "Big Honghong’s" computer, then cast an ambiguous glance at Xiao Ma. Finally, she took the gum out of her mouth, stuck it over the webcam, and began typing furiously.
The enchantress was wearing a crisp white shirt today, looking quite professional. She had deliberately unbuttoned an extra button at the chest, making her look rather well-endowed. She wondered if Xiao Ma would take the bait.
Just then, the voice of the cook came through the intercom: "Mr. Xiao Ma, there is a visitor. None of us recognize him. He says his name is Qiu Tianjue. Do you want to see him?"
Ma Weimin said, "I’ve never heard of anyone called Qiu Tianjue. Don't bother me."
However, Han Siyi was stunned. The name Qiu Tianjue was legendary to her. He had deep roots in many sectors of Haizhou, and his older brother, Qiu Hongwen, was an even more powerful figure who could command the wind and rain.
In the past, Tian Jia had dealt with many of Qiu Tianjue’s affairs, helping him hack into computers to steal data for extortion—often targeting women. Because he was tied to Qiu Tianjue, Tian Jia had become incredibly arrogant, believing no one could touch him.
Now, Han Siyi felt that Xiao Ma was even more impressive. A man like Qiu Tianjue had actually come to find him?
Indulging in her own fantasies, Han Siyi didn't speak, but her gaze toward Xiao Ma changed. She shifted into the role of his assistant. "This person is very capable. It must be something important if he’s coming to see you. Why don't you see him?"
Xiao Ma was actually a bit curious, so he said, "Fine, I’ll go meet him."
"Wouldn't it be rude not to invite him in?" Han Siyi added.
"He isn't qualified to enter the Demon-Locking Tower. I’ll go out and meet him," Xiao Ma said cryptically before heading out.
Han Siyi was so annoyed her mouth twisted. She wanted to follow him to show off a bit, but her legs were inconvenient. Even just standing by his side like a decorative vase, using his authority as the "second female lead" to intimidate others—that would have been a promotion for her. But unfortunately, she had encountered the eccentric Xiao Ma, and she didn't dare say anything to him.
