Volume One, Chapter 110: Who Is the True Heiress?
The news that Huo Cong brought back to Huo Mingting—that Ye Sheng was single—kept him awake all night with excitement. It turned out he had misunderstood the relationship between the Ninth Master and Ye Sheng; of course, it was also possible that the Ninth Master had been trying to pursue Ye Sheng but hadn’t succeeded yet… though the latter was highly unlikely.
In any case, this news greatly boosted Huo Mingting’s confidence.
There was a thrilling sense that Ye Sheng would eventually return to his side.
—
Last night, Ye Sheng had a stylist come to her home and spent four hours getting her hair and makeup done, finally falling asleep immediately after.
Early in the morning, she came over to have breakfast with Huo Lindong.
Huo Lindong, Wan Sandao, and Huo Xiaobei all turned to look at her in unison.
“How do I look?” Ye Sheng confidently showed them the result of her four-hour battle.
“Wow!” exclaimed Huo Xiaobei.
“A fairy has descended to earth!” said Wan Sandao.
Huo Lindong was more straightforward than the others, his eyes full of admiration and amazement: “You look great.”
Ye Sheng’s long hair was styled into pure black, large waves cascading behind her like seaweed. Paired with her own heavy makeup, her delicate features appeared even more sculpted—both beautiful and fierce.
She looked exactly like a wealthy heiress who wielded her beauty like a weapon.
As they ate breakfast, Huo Lindong asked, “Are you going to the Qin family this morning?”
“Yes, that’s right.”
Ye Sheng drank half a bowl of lobster porridge, then pulled out a tissue to wipe the traces of food from Huo Xiaobei’s lips. “I postponed a lecture to free up half the day. I still have to work in the afternoon.”
Huo Lindong replied with a grunt, then looked at Wan Sandao: “Take care of her.”
“Don’t worry, big brother.”
Wan Sandao ate quickly, finishing early. He sat with his legs crossed, peeling an apple, and fed pieces to Ye Sheng and Xiaobei one by one. “I have business dealings with Boss Qin; he wouldn’t dare offend me. Today, we’re just going to scout the situation.”
“Hm.” Huo Lindong looked at Ye Sheng and reminded her, “Call me if anything happens, anytime.”
Ye Sheng nodded, a smile curling at the corner of her lips.
“Got it.”

Since Chairman Qin received a mysterious call last night, Madam Qin had been bustling around with all the household staff inside and out.
Qin Minshu was woken up early, yawning and still full of morning grogginess.
“Who exactly is coming that’s making such a big fuss?”
Madam Qin was so busy she barely touched the ground, her throat nearly hoarse. When she glanced back at her daughter’s lazy figure, her expression darkened instantly.
“Go back to your room and get yourself ready properly. Boss Wan is coming today, and you must seize this opportunity!”
“Boss Wan?” Qin Minshu blinked, “Which Boss Wan?”
“Boss Wan from Ding Sheng Group.”
Ding Sheng Group?
In Qin Minshu’s mind, a memory flashed—once at an estate in Y country, she tasted a wine that was soft and sweet, hitting her palate with a burst of flavor.
At that time, her baron boyfriend was holding her close while kissing her and making a phone call, thanking the person on the other end for the wine—who happened to be Wan Sandao, the owner of Ding Sheng Group.
“Dad can actually connect with the boss of Ding Sheng Group?”
Qin Minshu’s eyes lit up. “Boss Wan must be quite old, right? Is he married?”
Madam Qin looked at her daughter’s greedy yet pretty gaze as if seeing a younger version of herself, a smile lifting the corner of her mouth. “Boss Wan isn’t married yet, but he will be bringing a female companion today.”
“A female companion?” Qin Minshu took the clothes her mother had personally picked out for her, fiddled with them, and asked curiously, “Who is she?”
“The heiress of the Ye family from Shangzhou,” Madam Qin said, her eyes tinged with envy as she spoke the name.
Qin Minshu saw it clearly.
Her mother was from Shangzhou and had grown up listening to stories about the Ye family.
They were true nobility.
But that “Ye” was not the same as Ye Sheng’s “Ye,” Qin Minshu thought disdainfully.
Boss Wan hadn’t specified an exact time, only that he would come in the morning, so Chairman Qin could only wait.
He kept glancing at his watch, his heart both excited and anxious. Madam Qin and Qin Minshu shivered in the cold wind alongside him, each afraid to speak carelessly.
They all understood clearly: Boss Wan was now a living godsend to the Qin family and Qin Group; even a small amount of gold thrown from his hands would be a lifeline for the struggling Qin Group.
As the clock hands neared noon, several black cars appeared in view. Chairman Qin’s eyes brightened, “They’re here!”
The servants hurriedly pulled open the gates of the mansion, laying out a red carpet to welcome the distinguished guests.
The cars drove into the Qin estate, their windows untouched. Chairman Qin had no choice but to lead his wife and daughter to follow the convoy on foot.
The event was arranged on such a grand scale, and yet no one dared to complain.
Bodyguards got out of the cars and opened the doors. Wan Sandao stepped down, and Chairman Qin quickly greeted him. “Boss Wan…”
Wan Sandao didn’t look at him but bent down to say something to the person inside the car, then extended his hand.
Qin Minshu watched a pale, slender hand rest in Wan Sandao’s calloused palm.
Then…
Stepping out of the car was the Ye family heiress, dressed in a dark green long gown and draped in a black blazer.
Ye… Ye Sheng?!
Qin Minshu’s forced smile gradually froze, and she felt as if all the blood in her body had congealed.
