Chapter 102: Reunion with an Old Friend
Heh, I only have the courage to ask for votes when I update honestly. Come on, brothers, throw some votes my way.
――――――
Early in the morning, Wu Hua and the new reporter arrived at the main gate of the Monica Boutique Factory. Before they even stepped out of the vehicle, his receiver chimed.
"Damn it, who is messaging me this early?" Wu Hua hadn't shaken off last night's alcohol, and his head was still spinning.
"Where are you? We’re coming to find you," the message from Yu Jialing read.
Wu Hua: "Do you think I’d go back to the Blue Moon Mountain Range to relive the feeling of being killed?"
Yu Jialing: "Judging by your tone, you seem to be in a much better mood these past two days?"
Wu Hua: "How many people are you bringing?"
Yu Jialing: "What do you mean?"
Wu Hua: "Coming to find me? How many of you are there?"
Yu Jialing: "?"
Wu Hua: "For 50 credits, what do you take me for? For 500, I’m yours for the day. For 5,000, don’t treat me like a person. For 50,000, I don’t care how many of you show up. For 500,000, I don’t care if what shows up is even human."
Yu Jialing was so furious she shrieked, "Wu Hua, go to hell!"
Wu Hua burst into laughter and closed the receiver. "I was just worrying about how to find a way in, and here it is. Drive the car to the Service Port. I need to pick up a friend."
The new reporter slammed on the gas. "Crazy Brother’s friends are my friends. I’ll be there in a bit, my dear."
Iced Coffee, watching from the gate, stomped her feet in anger. "Leaving again without a word? You'd better prepare to kneel on the motherboard tonight!"
When Wu Hua met Yu Jialing, "Brick Attack" was with her, dragging a large suitcase.
"Oh, Sister Brick is here too? Welcome, welcome," Wu Hua said with a grin.
"Look at that cheeky face of yours," Yu Jialing complained.
Wu Hua looked puzzled. "What did I do?"
Yu Jialing said, "We came specifically to apologize to you."
"Apologize for what?" Wu Hua was completely baffled.
In the car, Yu Jialing explained: the last time Wu Hua encountered the Blue Sky Starry Night in the Blue Moon Mountain Range, his location had actually been leaked by Dark Night Rose from the Green Arrow Studio.
"She was the one who sent people to tail us; otherwise, Blue Sky Starry Night couldn't have caught up to the foot of the mountain so quickly," Yu Jialing explained.
Wu Hua waved his hand dismissively and laughed. "Why bring up the past?"
"You don't seem angry at all?" Yu Jialing was curious again.
"Yeah, I'm not angry," Wu Hua said with a smile, though he thought to himself, *It would be a miracle if I weren't angry. I worked my tail off to reach level 29, and she made me lose a level in just a few moves, not to mention the ammo I dropped. I’ll make her pay back that grudge tenfold, but I’d better stay civil in front of the ladies.*
"We've decided to quit," Yu Jialing suddenly blurted out.
"Quit what?" Wu Hua asked, confused.
"We resigned from Green Arrow. I want to be like you—solo grind." A look of envy shone in Yu Jialing’s eyes. "Because you always manage to find great gear when you solo. I want to learn from you."
Wu Hua rolled his eyes. *Big sister, that’s not just luck from soloing,* he thought. *The gear I have was earned through countless brushes with death; soloing is actually the most dangerous thing you can do.*
"Since you're here, why don't you tour my friend’s boutique factory?" Wu Hua already had a plan. He couldn't secure the operating rights to the factory on his own; he needed reliable friends to invest with him.
The car stopped slowly in front of the factory. Tu Tu and Ri Wan were rubbing their sleepy eyes, having waited impatiently.
"Damn it, stop looking so sleepy! Every time you yawn, you make me want to sleep too," Tu Tu roared.
"Screw your granddaddy! You're acting tough now? You were the one who insisted on drinking until midnight at that idiot place called 'Paris Spring' last night. Now you're blaming me? Screw your mother, screw your complaints!" Ri Wan was very dissatisfied.
"If you two want to fight, go outside. Don't make a scene in here; you're affecting my work," Iced Coffee glared at them.
"We’re Crazy Brother’s friends!" Tu Tu yelled.
Iced Coffee said coldly, "I don't care if it's Crazy Brother, his dad, or his grandpa; I’m not giving anyone face. If you keep it up, I’m calling the guards."
The two were terrified; they had already experienced just how formidable the NPC guards were.
Wu Hua walked up with a grin. "Haha, stop arguing, we’re all on the same side."
"Crazy Brother!"
"Crazy Brother!"
Tu Tu and Ri Wan hurried to greet him. Tu Tu rushed up first. "Crazy Brother, I got the money from last time. I can pay you back right now, and I even made a profit! Oh, by the way... hey, beautiful, what do they call you? What’s your name, age, height, measurements..."
"What a bunch of idiot questions," Ri Wan shot him a glare, then turned to ask Yu Jialing, "Let me be the shameless one here—beautiful, do you have a boyfriend?"
Yu Jialing smiled. "I do!"
"Oh?" Tu Tu and Ri Wan looked crushed. They gritted their teeth and pressed, "Who is he? What’s his name, class, level? Where is he? We’ll go cut him down right now. I’m a Twelve-Element Alloy Warrior!"
Yu Jialing gave Wu Hua a playful look. "It's him."
Tu Tu coughed twice. "Ahem, I must say, the weather is quite nice today, and the moon is huge."
The group burst into laughter.
Wu Hua looked at Yu Jialing and said, "I just realized you have the potential to be a sniper."
"What kind of potential?"
Wu Hua said, "You react really fast."
Yu Jialing couldn't help but smile proudly.
Sister Brick hadn't said much, but upon seeing Iced Coffee, she slowly stepped forward. "What level are you?"
Iced Coffee looked at her coldly. "29."
Sister Brick said, "I'm 33."
Iced Coffee replied, "I'll catch up to you soon."
Sister Brick said, "Your learning progress is indeed faster than mine."
Wu Hua was stunned. "Wait, you guys... know each other?"
Iced Coffee said coldly, "Would you believe me if I said we’ve known each other for 12 years?"
Wu Hua looked at their hostile expressions and thought, *Could these two women actually know each other in real life?*
Wu Hua guessed correctly. Iced Coffee and Sister Brick were indeed acquaintances in real life, and their relationship was quite interesting. They had been college classmates with a deep bond. Iced Coffee’s family was poor, so she couldn't continue her studies, while Sister Brick was brilliant and had earned a doctorate. However, they were fiercely competitive, and even after graduation, they had been secretly vying with each other.
"Well, now, look at us meeting in Star Wars," Sister Brick said, adjusting her glasses—her signature gesture.
"Hmph!" Iced Coffee tossed her head haughtily.
Sister Brick walked into the exhibition hall, scanned the room, and proceeded to lecture Wu Hua. The equipment was too poor, materials were too scarce, product lines were too narrow, weapon levels were too low, and there weren't enough NPCs... Sister Brick pointed out a long list of flaws with righteous indignation.
Iced Coffee, leaning against a crystal pillar in the hall with her arms crossed, looked cold, but she was secretly impressed by her old friend. *Little brat, she really has put effort into Star Wars. She’s a level 33 Techie, after all.*
"Alright, everyone, let's stop chatting. I have something I need your help with," Wu Hua said, clapping his hands. "Let's go to Ms. Coffee's research lab to talk about it."
