Chapter 117: Elite Soldiers and Valiant Generals

The newcomers were none other than the three doctors he had first encountered on the Mulin Grassland: Lanlan, Lingling, and Qiaoqiao.
Lanlan’s equipment had changed significantly; her “spacesuit” had been replaced by a set of camouflage military fatigues, suggesting she was pursuing a light and specialized build.
Lanlan opened the barrel of the sniper’s AP rifle and asked, “Madman, what are you doing here?”
Wu Hua smiled and replied, “Leveling up.”
Lanlan gasped, “You’re really daring to level up here all alone.”
A loud laugh echoed from behind: “I told you, the one up front has to be a gunner, and a skilled one at that. Besides you, brother, who else in the southern district could handle this solo?”
Wu Hua brightened—another familiar face appeared; the couple known as 186o had arrived.
Lanlan was surprised. “Big Brother, you know Madman too?”
186o laughed heartily. “Know him? Your big brother and I have even fought back-to-back with guns.”
Lost Sunlight rolled his eyes. “Are you implying you’ve shared a dorm, or even more scandalous things? That your bond is unbreakable?”
Wu Hua couldn’t help but laugh.
186o waved his hand grandly. “Brothers, put away your weapons. These are our own people. Don’t kill the wrong person. Call him Madman—he’s a pro.”
“Madman!” The sniper bowed his head respectfully.
Wu Hua thought to himself: for someone as formidable as 186o to come here, could there be some secret in this cavern?
186o promptly sent a team invite, and Wu Hua gladly accepted. Opening the party list, he saw a formidable group of 30, five of each profession, grouped in fives, all led by top players. Their gear was impressive. The sniper’s name was Squid, and 186o was the commander.
After some conversation, Wu Hua understood their purpose. This ice cave connected the southern and central districts. Once successfully explored, it would link the southern district to others, allowing true travel and communication—a huge significance with presumably generous system rewards.
“Brother 18, how well do you know this place?” Wu Hua asked.

186o smiled. “Don’t worry, I’ve scouted here many times. This time, I could navigate it blindfolded. Brother, since you need to level up anyway, why not join us? I need a pro like you. Squid’s good, but still inexperienced—he can learn from you.”
Squid hurried over. “Madman, please guide me.”
Wu Hua could only smile wryly: “Looking sneaky like this, you’d think I’m no good.”
Squid blushed immediately.
The team 186o brought was truly elite. The five metalworkers were all men, combining to form a heavy-duty armored vehicle shaped like a truck. Though the design was somewhat bizarre, the configuration was practical.
The front of the vehicle bristled with five-meter-long steel spikes. Both sides were equipped with precise sonar sensors. On the roof sat a weapon system armed with a 25mm miniature automatic grenade launcher, effective up to 100 meters with a 20-meter blast radius. The body also featured lighting devices, including luminous crystals and a spotlight, illuminating the entire cave brightly.
Each metalworker had a distinct role: driving, lighting, data recording, spike activation, and grenade firing.
Wu Hua admired their ingenuity. This contraption led the way, followed by four AKM gunners sweeping the area, chip warriors protecting the metalworkers, doctors shielding the controllers, and gene warriors and psychics covering the rear.
The scene resembled an infantry armored vehicle unit’s steady advance—slow, but any wolf pack encountering them was either dead or burnt to ashes. The experience points gained were substantial, though divided among many, making progress slow.
Yiyi did not retreat into her pet space, but poked her little head out from Wu Hua’s belt space, curiously watching the big group.
The sensor displayed a penetration depth of 15 kilometers!
The temperature finally dropped; the cave walls were covered in ice. No one felt cold, indicating their gear had high water resistance—Wu Hua’s water resistance was 80%, yet he still felt warm.
Soon they reached the bottom of the passage—a circular chamber similar to the ancient Mulin tomb. At its center lay a massive metal disc frozen in ice and snow, with a huge pillar descending into its core, resembling a relic of lost technology. The walls were embedded with multicolored crystals.
Wu Hua recognized these as the natural fusion crystals the Brick MM had mentioned. Picking one up and twisting it with his hand, he found it indistinguishable from ordinary crystals. He gathered a large bundle and stashed them in his backpack.
Several metalworkers stood on the disc. Some typed on handheld computers, others installed energy crystals around the disc, while others drilled and tightened fittings with various tools.
“This must be an elevator, right?” Wu Hua asked.
186o nodded. “Frozen by the ice, it requires energy crystals to activate. I’ve tried many times. If you try to climb from outside the Blue Moon Mountains, the summit is an ice cliff—impossible to ascend. This is the only path upward.”
Wu Hua thought silently: 186o was truly formidable to have reached this point. Without highly specialized metalworkers, this elevator could never be started.

“Are there probably guardian bosses upstairs?” Wu Hua asked cautiously.
186o laughed. “This is as far as I’ve ever been.”
Wu Hua didn’t press further and joined the group standing on the disc with the armored vehicle. The massive elevator rumbled to life and began ascending.
Darkness engulfed them; clearly, they were in an extremely deep pit. The sensor recorded a staggering height:
100 meters
200 meters
300 meters
400 meters
...
After at least half an hour, the sensor stopped: altitude 3,343 meters.
Wu Hua’s vision suddenly brightened, and he was stunned by the scene before him.
A biting wind howled, heavy snow swirled, and the entire world was a vast expanse of ice and snow.
They stood beneath a small snowy peak, with a cliff behind them. Looking down, only white mist was visible—likely the Blue Moon Mountain Range below.
The sky above seemed within reach, but the blizzard made everything a white blur.
The cold wind cut like knives against their faces, strong enough to make their eyes sting. The snow on the ground reached above their knees.
“This damned weather,” Wu Hua muttered. After descending onto the snow, the elevator slowly lowered again, revealing a large hole in the snowfield.
“Look over there!” Lanlan shouted, pointing into the distance.
Wu Hua turned and felt an ominous premonition rising in his chest.
