Chapter 146: Insane Firearms
Early in the morning, the sun shone brightly.
Dream Star City was bathed in a warm, golden hue. The weeping willows outside the Monica Boutique Workshop turned golden, swaying gently like a beautiful young maiden beckoning to Wuhua.
Wuhua strode excitedly into the lobby. Right in the center of the exhibition hall, Brick MM and Iced Coffee were deep in an animated discussion, tapping away fiercely on their calculators as they talked.
Wuhua greeted them with a smile: "Your old friend Hu Hanshan is back!"
No one paid him any attention.
"What are you two chatting about?" Wuhua dashed over.
"We're talking about your new gun," Brick MM replied.
"Has it been manufactured?" Wuhua asked.
"It has been manufactured!" Brick MM answered.
Wuhua was overjoyed: "Where is the gun? Where is—"
"Follow me up to the second floor," Brick MM said as she walked. "However, I must warn you first: you need to mentally prepare yourself for this weapon, because it isn't as perfect as you might imagine. But I can guarantee you one thing—it is definitely not in the same league as your AUG."
Wuhua nodded apprehensively.
On the workbench in the second-floor research lab lay a metal gun case. Just looking at its bulk was enough to tell how robust it was.
When Brick MM popped open the gun case, a flash of purple light made Wuhua's heart skip a beat. This gun might just turn out to be a purple-tier piece of equipment.
Sure enough, assembled jointly by Brick MM and Iced Coffee, a purple assault rifle finally revealed its full appearance.
The barrel of this gun was both thick and long, wrapped in a layer of cooling iron mesh. The rear section looked entirely like a bulky box, completely lacking a traditional stock.
"A heavy machine gun?" Wuhua asked dubiously.
"No. Although its exterior closely resembles a Destroyer or a squad automatic weapon, it is actually an assault rifle, and its firepower surpasses that of a heavy machine gun," Brick MM finished assembling it. "The gun is too heavy; I can't lift it. You'll have to pick it up yourself."
Wuhua stepped forward, hoisted the assault rifle, and exclaimed in surprise: "Isn't this gun a bit too heavy?"
Brick MM said in a deep voice: "The most ferocious assault rifle in the entire world. Its insane firepower and large-caliber rounds make it like a razor-sharp blade in the world of firearms, thrusting straight into the enemy's heart. The greatest advantage of this weapon is its ability to instantly annihilate a massive number of enemies; any defense in front of it becomes as fragile as paper—DISENBOEL-H24O, nicknamed: The Crazy Ripper!"
"Woah—" Wuhua cried out vulgarly. The beastly blood throughout his entire body surged once again as he greedily examined the gun's stats:
Ripper (Tech Edition)
Purple Equipment
Class Requirement: Gunman
Strength Requirement: 40 points
Constitution Requirement: 40 points
Agility Requirement: 40 points
Weight: 11.4kg
Barrel Length: 1.38m
Caliber: 12.7mm
Ammo Feed: Belt-fed
Accuracy: 58.7%
Firing Rate: 10 rounds/second
Muzzle Energy: 3000 Joules + 1000 Joules
Effective Range: 500 meters
Bonus Attributes: Ranged Mastery +3, Strength Mastery +2, Reload Speed increased by 1 second.
Though classified as a purple-tier item, this gun was definitely superior to the AUG—and not just by a little, because its most formidable traits were its devastating power and extended range.
Brick MM explained: "This is manufactured using fifth-generation technological energy, with its primary advantage lying in its ferocious firepower. However, it also comes with quite a few unavoidable drawbacks. The rear sight uses a laser electro-optic locator for targeting; when you aim at a target, a red dot will appear on them, and it cannot accommodate anti-materiel attachments. Furthermore, the recoil exceeds that of an AK-47, sacrificing some accuracy. It utilizes an open-bolt mechanism."
Wuhua nodded, completely understanding. The gun was simply too heavy at 11.4 kilograms, which was its biggest issue. Once put into use, he would become a pillar of stability on the battlefield—capable only of aggressive assaults with no retreat.
Iced Coffee chimed in: "This gun uses white-tier tank secondary cannon 12.7mm armor-piercing rounds. Their penetration effect is slightly inferior to the Star of Finland, but that is already more than enough because it can pierce 8mm armor plating. According to our tests, sustained fire can blast apart an armored vehicle made of twelve-element alloy."
Wuhua sighed: "Good thing I didn't squander my attribute points randomly; looks like I have more allocating to do." With that, he immediately went to work dumping all his recent levels' worth of attribute points and merit points into his stats. Levels 29 through 34 yielded a total of 40 attribute points, and his campaigns during this period had also earned him 13 merit points, convertible into 3 more attribute points. Wuhua met the gun's prerequisite by allocating 4 points into Strength Mastery, while the remaining 75 attribute points were poured entirely into Constitution:
Constitution Mastery: 46 points + 89 points
Strength Mastery: 35 points + 7 points
Ranged Mastery: 3 points + 26 points
His HP had now skyrocketed to an astonishing 10,150 points.
"Is the legendary blood tank supposed to be someone like you?" Iced Coffee couldn't help but sigh when she saw Wuhua's absurd constitution stats.
Wuhua was amazed to find that an extra entry had appeared in his status bar: Constitution Mastery exceeding 100 points, granting physical resilience far beyond ordinary humans.
"Did this trigger a hidden attribute?" Wuhua pondered to himself. "What on earth does this superhuman physical resilience mean?"
Regardless, having over 10,000 HP guaranteed that even an encounter with a high-tier sniper wouldn't get him killed instantly.
"Hahaha, I've finally become a bit of a badass." Wuhua threw his head back and laughed.
Seeing him laugh like an idiot, Iced Coffee, the money-obsessed woman, immediately tossed over an order form:
"Red-tier 12.7mm armor-piercing rounds, unit price 4 credits each, 150 rounds per belt."
"How many ammo belts do you want?" Iced Coffee asked coldly.
"Damn it, this gun is an absolute money pit." Wuhua neglected the fact that a single belt of ammunition would be exhausted in a mere 15 seconds. His "madman spray-and-pray" style of combat meant this gun could spit out six to seven hundred rounds a minute. "Uh... let's go with 100 belts."
"No!" Iced Coffee refused flatly.
"Why?" Wuhua was dumbfounded.
"Your backpack can't hold that many, and with a load that heavy, do you want to develop a hunchback?" Iced Coffee said.
Wuhua thought about it and realized she was right; the weight of 12.7mm ammunition was terrifyingly staggering: "Then give me 3 belts."
"18,000 credits," Iced Coffee stated.
Wuhua felt like vomiting blood: "Big sis, give me a 20% discount. I'm a shareholder here, after all."
Iced Coffee replied: "Fine. But next time, I'll charge you 5 credits each."
Wuhua dropped to his knees with a loud thud: "Please, never offer me a discount on anything ever again."
Stepping out of the boutique workshop, Wuhua felt his movement speed was twice as slow as before, burdened heavily by the weight on his back. It seemed the side effects of any great weapon were never trivial.
Single for Life had already been waiting for quite some time in a beaten-up Toyota sedan, following Wuhua's instructions.
"Mad Bro!" Single for Life greeted him eagerly.
Wuhua glanced at his car: "Kid, you've been doing well for yourself lately, driving a Toyota now."
Single for Life chuckled sheepishly: "That's all thanks to Mad Bro. What good loot do you have this time? Boss Shen and I have been craning our necks waiting. Divine Glory can't survive without you, Mad Bro."
Wuhua smiled: "Hehe, the moment you stick your tail up, kid, I already know what kind of mischief you're planning."
Single for Life grinned: "There's no one who loves humanity quite like Boss Shen, but when it comes to knowing my heart, nobody beats Mad Bro."
Wuhua handed over a few pieces of equipment to Single for Life: "Next time, wire the credits directly to my account. No need to sign electronic contracts; I trust you."
The moment Single for Life laid eyes on the two items, his eyes flared with brilliant light: "200,000 is not a problem at all, absolutely not a problem."
"Hehe, off you go!" No sooner had Wuhua spoken than his communicator began to vibrate.
Picking it up, he couldn't believe his eyes. The text message was actually from Azure Starry Sky:
"I'm in Dream Star City. Interested in coming over for a chat?"
Wuhua froze for a moment, thinking to himself that this woman and he were like fire and water, yet she wanted to seek him out. Wuhua was extremely curious: "Chat about what?"
Azure Starry Sky: "If I apologize to you, would you accept it?"
Wuhua hesitated for quite a while before replying: "Where are you?"
