Chapter Fifty-Three: Honest Lies
Page 1/3
As the large party from the Heaven and Earth Society descended to the mountainside, Wu Hua could only see what looked like a swarm of ants wriggling on the opposite slope. Through the rain and mist, Wu Hua determined that this was definitely Malagobi and his group.
"It's time," Wu Hua said, taking the megaphone handed to him by Tushao. He shouted loudly, "People on the opposite mountain, listen up! I am your crazy grandpa, and your grandpa has a few words for you."
The terrain here was wide and open, and his voice echoed endlessly between the mountains.
A large crowd was stunned on the spot, then turned to Malagobi with admiration. "Boss is boss, his judgment is spot-on. That brat really is over there."
Malagobi also took out a megaphone and roared, "Madman, my son, if you have something to say, say it. If you want to fart, fart. No matter what you say today, I’ll have you on your knees begging for mercy."
Wu Hua shouted, "Brothers, listen to me! The bee down here is the big boss. Its attack power is too fierce. I advise you not to come over, or else everyone will die here today. Trust me just this once, I'm not lying to you." After saying this, not only was Malagobi's group stunned, but even Tushao and the others were shocked.
None of them expected Wu Hua to actually tell the truth.
Last night, Wu Hua had spent half the night scouring the forums for information, enduring great difficulty to find even a scrap. A player had once come to pioneer this Mulin Grassland. That player only mentioned one thing: the queen bee’s AI was extremely advanced, almost on par with human intelligence. As long as you didn’t provoke it, it would leave you alone. But if you did, the consequences would be disastrous.
That was all Wu Hua managed to learn, but from that brief bit of information, he sensed the danger. He firmly believed the player hadn’t lied, because that player's name was—“Hot Girl.”
But this well-intentioned truth struck Malagobi’s ears as the most outrageous lie. "Madman, you idiot. Do you take me for a fool? Damn you. Only someone truly desperate would make up something like this to boost their courage. I pity you. Today, our Heaven and Earth Society has come in force to send you on your way. You should be honored."
Wu Hua let out a long sigh. "Malagobi, believe it or not, come challenge me one-on-one if you’ve got the guts. You sucker. Damn you."
"To hell with you! The thing I hate most is being called a sucker. Brothers, go! Cut him to pieces!" Malagobi hurled his megaphone into the grass and stomped on it twice.
Tushao and the others beside him watched Wu Hua’s solemn expression and could barely keep themselves from laughing.

"I always thought I was the most shameless person," Tushao said. "Turns out I was wrong. It’s you, Madman—you’re the worst."
Wu Hua squatted down and smiled. "Now let’s just sit back and enjoy the show."
Malagobi’s party was mostly Controllers and Warriors. With loud shouts, they charged down the slope, almost like a scene of invaders storming a village. Swords waved, staves raised, and their cries filled the air; they looked every bit the experts.
"It’s just a mangy bug. Who have I ever been afraid of?" Malagobi said, bursting with bravado, commanding his troops with flair and confidence, thoroughly pleased with himself.
Chrysanthemum III Fury wielded a purple-grade M4A1 carbine, a formidable weapon for mid-to-long-range combat, even surpassing the AUG in performance. Its muzzle energy was 1,645 joules, with a strong ability for accurate fire at a range of 300 meters, and it could be fitted with a silencer.
Its design was the opposite of the AK’s: the AK was made to kill, the M4 to incapacitate targets and deprive them of mobility.
As soon as they reached the foot of the hill, within effective range, Chrysanthemum III Fury opened fire—the first to attack the queen bee. He sprayed over a dozen bullets, but his aim was terrible; only a few struck the queen’s wings.
"-110, -118, -115..."
At that moment, the rain began to pour, visibility plummeted. If Chrysanthemum III Fury could have seen those damage numbers, it might not have been too late, but fate did not favor them.
The warriors had already charged close, activating their dash skills. Their flaming energy swords surrounded the queen bee in the rain like a ring of torches.
"Swish, swish, swish!" Blades flashed in a wild flurry, but not a single hit exceeded 100 damage; all the combined attacks barely reached 2,000 points. Malagobi remained calm—his team had twenty Controllers, most of them fire specialists.
Energy staves swept through the air in unison as all the Controllers cast “Firewall.” In Star Wars, the Firewall skill for fire Controllers was extremely powerful. Once cast, it spun through the air like a burning blade. The higher the Controller’s level and mana, the thicker, larger, and wider the firewall, and the longer it would burn. Controllers could even remotely guide its path.
At least a dozen firewalls sailed toward the queen, swirling around her in a ring of searing flame. From a distance, it looked like a host of flamethrowers slicing through the queen’s body, a veritable sea of fire—an awe-inspiring sight.
A sea of red damage numbers appeared: "-200, -198, -181..."
In just seven or eight seconds, the queen bee lost over 5,000 HP. The marble clearing, originally waterlogged, was instantly scorched dry by the firewalls. The queen bee was left charred and smoking, her whole body shrouded in thick smoke.

Tushao and the others were dumbfounded—Controllers were truly born attackers.
A shrill, ear-splitting wail resounded across the grassland as the queen’s wings shot upright and she raised her head to the sky, clearly enraged.
What happened next sent a chill down everyone’s spines. Countless giant wasps poured from the queen’s mouth, forming a net in the air that swept toward Malagobi’s group like a plague of locusts.
"Warriors, hold the center! Espers, use psychic waves to intercept! Gunners, fire! Medics, heal! Everyone else, blast fire with me!" Malagobi commanded with remarkable composure.
He had underestimated these wasps. Their greatest threat wasn’t their speed, but their overwhelming venom and sheer numbers—impossible to fend off.
A moment ago, a sea of red numbers had blazed above the queen’s head; now, a sea of purple numbers floated above the heads of every Heaven and Earth Society member—all were poisoned without exception.
The three warriors named Aryogen, Hao Yougen, and Zhai Zhai Bulugen were brothers, all gene warriors with agile movements. As they stood at the very front, roars echoed across the field: "Aryogen! Hao Yougen! Zhai Zhai Bulugen!"
Wu Hua and the others were left speechless. "Are they Street Fighter fans? Shoryuken? Hurricane Kick?"
But the brothers weren’t throwing Shoryukens—they unleashed Rising Dragon Swords and Whirlwind Slashes. Leaping four or five meters into the air, they drew arcs of red sword light, spinning mid-air with dazzling flashes, and the moves actually packed a punch.
Clearly, these were signature techniques for striking airborne enemies. But the swarm kept growing. Every time the brothers leapt and landed, their faces were battered, swollen and bruised, almost unrecognizable.
The grassland at this moment was a scene of wild chaos—fire, sword-light, electric arcs, all interspersed with scattered gunshots. Tushao and the others watched with great interest.
"Enough watching. Let’s go," Wu Hua urged.
"Unleash the big fire," Malagobi finally snapped, issuing the high-level command.
