Chapter Ninety-Four: Targeting the Mind

The definition of a sniper varies widely; each version seems reasonable, yet none fully accurate. Wu Hua’s understanding was not about one-shot kills or headshots; a true sniper excels at completing diverse missions, and doesn’t necessarily have to kill to demonstrate power.
The current mission was to intercept the enemy, buy time, and ensure a safe retreat.
Neither the Blue Company nor the Wulin Radio personnel were sitting ducks. Five minutes later, something astonishing unfolded before Wu Hua and his party.
On the broad steps appeared a towering five-meter-high mech. Its design was somewhat primitive, movements slow, but its massive frame completely blocked Wu Hua’s line of sight.
As it ascended the steps, colorful fireworks burst behind it. The fireworks blossomed midair, illuminating the entire night sky and casting hues upon the mountain.
“They say Blue Company has a big reputation. Seems they truly know their stuff,” murmured 186o, then suddenly turned to Wu Hua. “Wife, you must have seen something like this before, right?”
Lost Sunshine replied calmly, “This is a combined robot equipped with a signal gun on its back. Blue Company once deployed it in the Saint Laurent battle. The patent holders are Moonshadow Akiha and Dune Witch. This robot carries no offensive weapons but is made entirely of carbon-based twelve-element alloy. It’s highly resistant to damage and serves as an excellent scout.”
Wu Hua never expected a doctor to know so much.
186o glanced at Blue Wolf. “At this rate, its signal flares will eventually reveal our position.”
Blue Wolf responded coldly, “Try shooting it!”
Without hesitation, Wu Hua pulled the trigger. The earth-shaking gunshot rang out again.
With a clear “ding,” everyone saw through the binoculars a burst of electric sparks on the mech’s chest. However, it only shuddered slightly, then straightened up and continued climbing with a creaking sound.
Behind it, a group of people followed stealthily.
“So, how is it?” Blue Wolf asked.
Wu Hua activated “Precision Calculation” and checked. “Damage level 2.4%!”
Everyone was stunned. Lost Sunshine said, “Looks like it’s not your gun’s fault. This robot’s alloy is too resilient. It won’t be down anytime soon.”

Wu Hua pondered, then suddenly opened the trade interface with Blue Wolf, placing six soda cans on it.
Blue Wolf was momentarily shocked, then gave a thumbs-up. “Brother, you really have connections. I admire you—getting your hands on these things is no small feat.”
Wu Hua smiled, “Use them sparingly. Each costs several thousand.”
“In my opinion, these are priceless treasures,” Blue Wolf chuckled, then turned and gestured, “Everyone, follow me down to intercept. BlowFury, provide cover.”
On the hillside steps, a large group crouched behind the mech, quietly advancing upward.
Wu Hua had removed the previous explosive rounds, which delivered a powerful impact like a heavy punch to the opponent’s chest. The new clip was loaded with red explosive rounds—Wu Hua wasn’t sure of their effect but aimed at the mech’s chest and fired.
With a “boom,” an electric flash streaked across, and the mech burst into roaring flames. The people behind it were startled.
“Awesome!” Wu Hua rejoiced, thinking to himself that next time he might just boldly steal Ice Coffee’s affection—after all, she had pretended to be his wife for a day just to help him research bullets.
“All set,” Wu Hua said, lowering his head to the walkie-talkie, activating the Focused Strike skill. At this moment, skill or no skill made little difference—the Finnish Star’s accuracy was 100%, but Wu Hua preferred the added assurance and concentration.
“Roger!” Blue Wolf’s voice came through the radio.
The infrared pocket camera showed an unprecedented scene: Blue Wolf crouched, pulled the safety off a G4 grenade, tossed it lightly into the air, and Rain Clear dashed forward, kicking the grenade with great agility and flexibility.
Her expertise in agility and flexibility was evident—the grenade flew in a perfect parabolic arc nearly 100 meters away, landing precisely in front of the mech and exploding.
With a thunderous roar and a towering fireball, the G4 grenade’s shockwave was powerful enough to topple the mech. The surprised group behind it all gasped as red damage numbers “-500” appeared above their heads.
Wu Hua’s eyes, like an eagle’s, scanned the panicked crowd through the sniper scope. Suddenly, a small girl resembling a child appeared in his sight, clutching a remote control. Her military uniform and beret clearly marked her as part of Blue Company, flanked immediately by two Chip Warriors ready to protect her.
This was a fleeting opportunity, lasting less than two seconds. Wu Hua’s cold, merciless finger moved.
“Bang!”
Thunder cracked, gunfire erupted. In this dark night, the sniper rifle truly lived up to its noble name, shining like a solitary, proud Finnish Star in the night sky.

With a sharp “pop,” the Dune Witch’s eyes widened in terror, her youthful face etched with fear, as if witnessing something utterly dreadful.
Green damage numbers appeared: “-30,001!”
This high score rivaled a team ultimate attack.
Three seconds later, the Dune Witch’s head exploded—the explosive round contained high-purity black powder. The crowd instantly became engulfed in flames, many with clothes and hair catching fire, frantically patting themselves.
Though this explosive round was mostly for show—it paled in comparison to a Firewall wielded by a master controller—people’s instinctive reaction to fire was panic and haste.
Only when the Dune Witch’s headless corpse collapsed did it dissolve into white light. At that moment, the others were filled with grief and rage.
“Old Six!” shouted Farmer Woman Three Fists fiercely.
“I’ll kill you all!” she roared, turning and raising her Destroyer rifle to bombard above. The muzzle flash illuminated her furious face red.
Farmer Woman Three Fists was a formidable fighter, but her volatile temper was her fatal flaw.
Her fury stemmed from not knowing what her opponents looked like—let alone where they were. Her aimless spraying only hastened her death, greeted by Wu Hua’s cold, vengeful gaze.
“Bang!”
This shot was expertly precise, hitting her temple again. Her fate mirrored the Dune Witch’s—head exploded, igniting another fire, causing the others to scream in chaos.
Wu Hua’s Focused Strike was at least grade E; coupled with his own skill, the Finnish Star’s superior performance, and the advantageous terrain, he could strike whomever he wished.
Yet the mech did not vanish with the Dune Witch’s death. It buzzed a few times and was reactivated by Moonshadow Akiha, rising once more.
In Wu Hua’s memory, this woman was the toughest opponent—experienced in command, to eliminate this elite force, she had to be taken out first.
As the saying goes: capture the leader to capture the bandits.
