Chapter Ninety-Five: Thundercloud Storm

Blue Corporation had lost two key players, and everyone realized the sniper was targeting the Metallurgist.
“Protect Third Sister!” Snow Night Fairy shouted, setting up her SVD rifle by the rocks. The distance was now 800 meters, well within her sniper’s range.
By the rocks halfway up the slope, Lost Sunshine cast an “Energy Heal” on Yuqing. Although it was nighttime and bitterly cold, Yuqing’s equipment was poor, and volcanic ash accumulated during the day had already begun to affect her. Lost Sunshine also activated an “Energy Strength” skill on Yuqing, bolstering her power.
“Get ready!” Blue Wolf crouched, tossing a grenade into the air.
Yuqing responded with a spinning kick, sending the grenade flying again.
Boom! The mech collapsed once more, yet Moonlight Autumn Silks smiled because two female warriors clad in octagonal alloy armor stood before her.
Still, Wu Hua’s fingers moved, and the Finnish Star spat fire.
Some gunners, when utterly focused, don’t consider cover; to them, the world is divided into the living dead and those about to die.
“Pop pop pop—”
Moonlight Autumn Silks kept smiling, but her mouth would never close again.
In truth, her end was peaceful—she died with a beautiful smile on her face, like a goddess ascending to the heavens.
“To die smiling is, in its way, a blessing,” Wu Hua murmured, cycling the bolt.
Four white lights floated up the steps. Moonlight Autumn Silks, two warriors, and their combined mech retreated to the base city. The three were just enough to set up a card game at the administrative hall.
That shot from Wu Hua was armor-piercing, piercing through three throats.
Damage numbers read: -7238, -7433, -8959!
The Finnish Star’s formidable power was on full display—a demonic force sealed within unleashed immense kinetic energy. Though the shot required lengthy aiming, it was instantly lethal.
A faint red energy danced within Wu Hua’s rifle. This demonic power seemed to frenzy at the sight of blood.
Bang! Snow Night Fairy pulled the trigger too, her scope revealing Wu Hua’s helmet. Her rifle’s precision, however, was no match for the Finnish Star at such distance, though her marksmanship was flawless.

Wu Hua lay by the rocks, blood pouring from his left shoulder—this shot hit his scapula, yet he didn’t flinch. The sniper’s aim was unshakable.
“Pfft!”
-102!
Snow Night Fairy couldn’t believe her eyes. The purple SVD’s muzzle energy was 3300 joules; even at this extreme range, a single shot couldn’t cause only 102 damage.
She was unaware Wu Hua’s defense was nearly 1000 points, absorbing her 2000-point attack, and his blue armor was impervious to her purple weapon’s effects. Had she been wielding an AK instead, her shots would barely cause 20 damage—exactly as in Wu Hua’s previous battle with Azure Sky.
As she hesitated, Wu Hua counterattacked.
Bang!
With a crash, the rock before Snow Night Fairy shattered as the explosive grenade penetrated and struck her chest.
-2980!
She was stunned—what kind of rifle packed such power?
Suddenly, she sensed danger; the five snipers positioned above were unprecedented experts.
Sniper duels were tense and silent, everyone waiting. Wu Hua dared not be careless—one shot to his face could be fatal.
The main forces clashed head-on.
1860 first unleashed a lightning shield; electric sparks flickered fiercely on the hillside.
Blue Corporation’s rifles opened fire instantly, bullets ringing off the shield, which glowed undiminished.
“Let me handle this.” Wind Smile, a wind-element controller, pointed his staff skyward as a tornado spiral formed.
That night, southern experts gathered in force. Wind Smile summoned a tornado from 100 meters away—a true master of elemental control.
“You insignificant pests, I’m sparing you by intervening today.” 1860 raised a staff shaped like a magical orb, conjuring a lightning ball that drifted down slowly.

Ordinary controllers could only summon three such balls; 1860 astonishingly released several at once. Level 36 controllers truly defied limits.
The lightning ball was caught in the tornado, swirling upward as if locked in battle.
Both controllers waved their staffs skyward. Experts recognized this as a clash of inner mastery—who commanded elemental power better.
Initially, the tornado lifted the lightning ball high, but soon the tornado weakened while the ball grew larger and brighter, seemingly heavier… Even Wu Hua was captivated by the spectacle.
Finally, the tornado vanished, and the lightning ball fell like an iron shot.
Such wide-area attacks from controllers were unmatched by other classes. Each lightning ball unleashed seven or eight arm-thick currents, each dealing around 500 damage. The more targets, the greater the damage. Wu Hua guessed the steps below were scorched black.
Blue Wolf’s BT3 gun roared, fiercer than any farmer’s triple punch. The muzzle fire was nearly static, no recoil. Dust flew wildly, many gunners were pinned down, falling one after another like dominoes.
Yuqing kicked three flashbangs procured from Blue Wolf, dazzling the enemy. Blue Corporation and the Wulin Radio crew were utterly overwhelmed, unable to counter, let alone defend.
Meanwhile, Lost Sunshine used her husband and Blue Wolf as cover to rush forward, releasing a vast red smoke cloud—some unknown poison.
Wu Hua could barely see through the chaos; red damage numbers flickered like a sea of blood.
Three minutes later, 1860 unleashed his ultimate skill—a technique Wu Hua learned much later was an original creation: “Thunderstorm Gale”!
A fifty-square-meter electric grid appeared midair, rippling like a soft blanket. Countless conical bolts rained down like arrows. The grid moved with 1860’s staff, covering all the mountain steps in an “electric rain.”
Warriors and medics fared slightly better, but controllers and metallurgists were doomed—no escape possible. Their shields weren’t perfected enough to withstand the relentless electric onslaught and shattered quickly.
Screams and wails echoed through the entire Wind Forest Volcano.
Wulin Radio’s reporter, Bai Xiaosheng, filmed the scene, utterly speechless—likely his first time witnessing such powerful masters.
Snow Night Fairy, hiding behind rocks, beckoned to a female gunner wielding an M16 behind her: “Cover me!”
The gunner moved swiftly, rolling out from cover, then cat-leaped, skillfully dodging the sniper’s aim.
When she looked up, Wu Hua froze; his finger, poised to pull the trigger, halted mid-air.
He never expected this person to appear here.
