Chapter 102: Knocked Away with a Single Punch

The bald instructor had been so focused on dealing with Zhong Yun that his subordinates lost their composure. Except for Zhong Yun, the others could not withstand the raging cold and collapsed one after another.
Just as Fleming was about to collapse, one of the instructors felt the bald instructor had gone too far and spoke up to warn him.
In that moment when the bald instructor was distracted, Zhong Yun suddenly sensed the suffocating cold energy pressing down on him falter slightly. He had engaged in life-or-death battles every day during “combat simulation training” against opponents stronger than himself, accumulating rich experience.
He was never one to sit and wait to be killed defensively. He had long planned to counterattack, knowing that only by striking could he possibly turn defeat into victory. Unfortunately, he had been pressed down so tightly that he never found the opportunity to act.
Now, seeing a slight opening in the enemy’s defense, Zhong Yun did not hesitate. He stepped forward. Purple light erupted from his body, parting the white mist to create a narrow gap.
The primal energy within Zhong Yun spun rapidly at his core, drawing all the energy inward to form a tightly compressed, high-pressure energy sphere.
“Break!”
With a thunderous roar that shook the heavens, the energy sphere surged along his arm, expanding it noticeably before he threw a punch.
Sensing the intent, the bald instructor immediately understood, but it was too late. Zhong Yun stepped forward, breaking through the cold energy, and his punch landed in a seamless, fluid motion that took less than half a second. The bald instructor only managed to raise his arm horizontally in front of him as a shield.
With a sharp crack, the bald instructor was struck like a heavily armored vehicle had collided with him. He spun through the air, propelled by a fierce whirlwind originating from Zhong Yun’s fist, forming a small horizontal tornado. Sand and dust whipped violently around the arena, and the bonfire flickered wildly.
With a sudden movement, all the instructors sprang to their feet, mouths agape in shock.
The scene fell into an eerie silence. The only sound was the rapid intake of breath.
The trainees were momentarily frozen, staring at the young man still holding his punching stance, as if struck by lightning—speechless.
What had just happened? The bald instructor had been knocked flying by that boy? Everything had unfolded too fast, like a flash of lightning. None of the trainees had seen exactly what had occurred. The boy had remained standing, barely holding on, yet in the blink of an eye, the bald instructor had been sent flying.
“Ugh,” the bald instructor groaned, supporting himself with one hand on the ground, struggling to rise. Halfway up, his arm weakened, and he collapsed again.

The instructors snapped out of their daze. Two hurried over to check on him.
“Heh heh—” Zhong Yun, still in his punching pose, suddenly let out a strange laugh. Just two chuckles before falling silent. Then he collapsed backward with a thud, kicking up a cloud of dust.
“Whoosh!” A nearly invisible figure darted forward, scooped up the fallen Zhong Yun, and vanished in two swift flashes.
An anxious voice floated through the air, “I’ll take him to the doctor. You all maintain order here.”
Only then did the trainees fully awaken from their stupor. Loud discussions erupted, everyone excitedly talking about the earlier scene.
However, the instructors quickly subdued the chatter. Under their authoritative presence, the trainees quieted down, and order was restored.
The instructors promptly arranged for the bald instructor and the other eleven new trainees to be taken to the infirmary. The bonfire gathering was hurriedly ended, and everyone returned to their respective dormitories.
Inside the infirmary, Yang Siqing’s face was grave as she looked down at Zhong Yun lying on a white hospital bed. His face was pale as paper, devoid of any color. His lips were purple, and frost clung to his eyebrows. His body twitched slightly.
A young female doctor in a white coat furrowed her delicate brows. She reached out with slender, fair hands to check Zhong Yun’s forehead, then lifted his eyelids to examine his pupils.
“Take off his clothes,” the doctor said without relaxing her frown. The situation did not look optimistic.
Two nurses helped Zhong Yun sit up, removed his shirt, and then laid him back down. His well-proportioned upper body was unnaturally pale.
The doctor extended her hand again. On her white palm glowed a faintly blue, transparent liquid that seemed alive, flowing continuously. The clean, pure blue liquid mirrored the delicate hand itself.
Placing her hand over Zhong Yun’s heart, the blue liquid happily flowed from the skin into his body. A marvelous sight unfolded: wisps of white vapor emerged from every pore on Zhong Yun’s body. The two nurses nearby felt the room’s temperature plunge to freezing, shivering uncontrollably.
Yang Siqing waved her hand, signaling them to leave. Having witnessed so many incredible things here, the nurses wisely took their leave.
The white mist was the residual cold energy within Zhong Yun’s body—special cold elemental energy unique to the bald instructor. It had been continuously damaging Zhong Yun’s muscles. If it remained much longer, it could have become life-threatening.

The doctor forced the energy out, and Zhong Yun’s skin began to regain a rosy hue; color returned to his face.
Two minutes later, the doctor withdrew her hand, and the blue glow vanished without a trace. She checked Zhong Yun’s forehead again and finally relaxed her brows.
“He’s fine now. With proper rest for over ten days, he should fully recover.” The doctor pulled the blanket over Zhong Yun’s upper body.
“You instructors really have no mercy, hitting a kid so hard,” she said with some displeasure. “If he hadn’t been brought here in time, he would have been ruined.”
Yang Siqing smiled bitterly to herself. Who could have imagined such stubbornness? That spirit of fighting to the death was deeply stirring.
Before the doctor could continue, the door opened abruptly. A nurse rushed in, “Dr. Shui, hurry, another dozen injured trainees have just arrived.”
The doctor shot Yang Siqing a sharp glance but had no time to respond. Saving lives took precedence. She followed the nurse out.
Yang Siqing stood by the bed, gazing at Zhong Yun’s peaceful sleeping face, overwhelmed with countless questions. How many secrets did Zhong Yun truly hold?
A seventeen-year-old Level 5 physical arts practitioner, possessing top-tier physical skills. That single punch had severely injured the bald instructor, whose strength was many times greater. Though the bald instructor had been somewhat careless, this gap in power was previously unimaginable.
Then considering his knowledge surpassing that of Huang Lao, the plant master, and his creation of machines that drove B-level mechanics engineers mad...
Zhong Yun was truly a monster overturning all conventional understanding.
P.S.: No ranking rush tonight. Updates as usual; just a heads-up in advance.
