The interstellar super empire—finally finished, sorry for the slight delay today.
Time passed steadily, day by day, with no significant changes, and soon it was time for the rankings of Pearl School.
Zhong Yun originally didn’t want to attend Pearl School; the results could be checked online. However, Tian Hai and Chen Wen insisted on experiencing the atmosphere in person and dragged him along.
Upon arriving at Pearl School, the scene was truly a sea of people, indicating many others shared the same idea as Tian Hai and the others. The school had clearly anticipated this, setting up hundreds of large screens on the main playground to continuously display the list of admitted students.
At the top of the list for Wol Star was none other than Zhong Yun, from Mingzhou No.1 High School. Though it wasn’t explicitly stated, everyone knew the names were listed by rank. In other words, Zhong Yun had secured first place on Wol Star.
The second name astonished Zhong Yun and his friends equally—it was Yu Ruo, also from Mingzhou No.1 High School.
Could it be that Xiao Ruo had also taken the Pearl School exam? He had never heard her mention it before. Tian Hai and Chen Wen exchanged strange smiles, clearly imagining the jealous storms that would brew in the future.
Next came Chen Wen, followed by Tian Hai in fourth place. This did not surprise them; Pearl School valued potential, and the exam content leaned toward intellectual aptitude rather than basic knowledge.
Chen Wen didn’t take studying seriously; he went to school under orders to flirt around but secretly shirked his duties, just killing time there. His grades were average, but his focus was elsewhere. Being chosen by his family as a key talent already proved his innate gift.
The top four students on Wol Star all came from the same school, which had been relatively unknown before, causing a huge sensation in Mingzhou City. Later, it was revealed that all four were from the same class.
This event caused Mingzhou No.1 High School’s reputation to skyrocket, rivaling the most prestigious private schools. Meanwhile, several of Zhong Yun’s teachers were promoted to D-level instructors.
Since they had been admitted, Zhong Yun and the others paid little mind to school regulations and went about their business. Zhong Yun initially planned to use the upcoming six-month vacation to visit his home planet. Being away for so long left him feeling uneasy. However, his plans were soon forcibly canceled.
Five days later was the school’s registration day. When Zhong Yun received the electronic admission notice from Pearl School, he felt dizzy—his long-awaited holiday was just gone.
He called Tian Hai and Chen Wen, but neither had received any such notice.
He then called Pearl School for confirmation. They confirmed the matter and explained that this time, the school was conducting intensive training for the top students. Zhong Yun felt like he had shot himself in the foot and was deeply frustrated.

When he asked if he could take leave, they said no unless there were special reasons; otherwise, it would be considered a voluntary forfeiture of admission.
After careful consideration, Zhong Yun had no choice but to accept. He had no legitimate excuse unless his parents could cover for him, but he wasn’t confident he could persuade them.
His last absence of over a month had already caused a huge commotion and nearly exposed his secret. If he were to pull such a stunt again, the consequences would be severe.
Since he was determined to live here, for the sake of his parents and to maintain his student status, he had to be careful not to overstep.
Five days later, Zhong Yun tearfully parted with Tian Hai and, carrying a large backpack, arrived punctually at Pearl School to register. After showing his ID, a staff member led him inside the campus.
Pearl School occupied a vast area; even traveling from one end to the other by shuttle took five minutes.
The staff member took Zhong Yun onto a small shuttle and drove out of the school, heading into the vast mountains to the north.
“Where is this?” Half an hour later, the shuttle stopped in a mountain valley. Zhong Yun got off and saw he was surrounded by mountains. Ahead stretched a broad valley with unusual buildings scattered throughout, extending beyond sight.
“This is Pearl School’s secret training base. You will spend the next six months here,” the staff member said, leading him to a solitary room against the mountain before leaving him alone.
Resigned to his fate, Zhong Yun calmly explored the room, about a hundred square meters, furnished simply with a few basic pieces and a modest bathroom.
Luckily, he had brought Xiao Ling with him; otherwise, six months would be wasted. Thinking so, he found his light computer under the bed. He put down his backpack, took out Xiao Ling, connected it to the light computer, and rebooted it.
The full silhouette of Zero, clad in black, appeared in the room.
“Where exactly are we now?” Zhong Yun asked.
“The signals in this area are blocked. To prevent detection, positioning systems cannot be used,” Zero’s emotionless voice replied.
Zhong Yun frowned. “Why so secretive? It’s just a school.” Then he asked, “What about our connection to ‘Qiyun Star’?”

‘Qiyun Star’ was the name Zhong Yun had given his home planet, combining a character from his own name and one from Liu Yunqi’s. It was a name the old Zhong Yun cherished, chosen to honor his past self.
“Don’t worry. The connection to ‘Qiyun Star’ uses spatial sensors and won’t be affected by signal blocking,” Zero assured him.
“That’s a relief,” Zhong Yun relaxed. ‘Qiyun Star’ was his top priority; as long as it remained secure, he had a solid rear base.
“A few days ago, Qin Qianli from the Omni National Management Company delivered the first batch of ten thousand humans, and they have all been processed,” Zero continued.
“What? Humans?” Zhong Yun was stunned. “What’s going on?”
He delegated all major affairs concerning ‘Qiyun Star’ to Xiao Ling, becoming a hands-off manager. He couldn’t even govern a town properly, let alone an entire planet. With such a powerful assistant, he was wise not to interfere.
“Exploration of ‘Qiyun Star’ is complete. There are currently no dangerous species rated above level three. It is very suitable for human habitation. Therefore, I applied to the Omni National Management Company for one hundred thousand humans,” Zero explained.
Zhong Yun scratched his head, feeling an intense scalp itch. “So... where did these ten thousand humans come from?”
“According to the Grand Universe Federation laws, any form of human cloning is prohibited. To have enough people to colonize new natural stars, migration of part of the population from undeveloped civilizations to these new stars is allowed,” Zero said without emotion.
Zhong Yun sighed. In Earth’s Age of Exploration, there were slave trades; now, thousands of years later in the advanced cosmic era, similar things still happened.
Being backward means being bullied—truly a universal truth across the cosmos.
PS: Once again asking for votes—sorry if it’s annoying. Just one more day, everyone please hang in there and vote.
